Can a low dose pill work 8 years later if it did not work before. My records indicate that I only took it for 3 months and was switched back to 1/35.

Maybe: It depends on what you mean by "did not work before". and why it didn't work. If you are even few hours late with the low dose pill, your estrogen levels can drop to a level you can ovulate which can result in pregnancy. ...Read more

Amantadine, low dose (25-50mgs), for cfs/me? Works/ doesn't/unknown?

It is rarely helpful: There are some theoretical reasons why it can help and anecdotal evidence for its utilization although amantadine is a relatively challenging medicine to both tolerate as a patient and dose as a clinician so it requires a lot of fine tuning to be a useful intervention. I would talk with your prescribing doctor about how it makes you feel and I hope it could be a useful treatment approach for you! ...Read more

I have servere migrains an prescribed meds an over counter don't work or ease, is pain killer such as a low dose of noroco etc. Prescribed an helpful?

Opiates can reduce: headache (HA) pain. Often, other types of HA are misdiagnosed as migraine just because pain is severe. If migraine meds don't work, maybe it's not migraine. Could be due to whiplash (strained occipital tendons)/inflamed nerves/cranial bone dysf., etc. Exacting history & phys./osteopathic hands-on exam may provide some answers. Proper diagnosis is KEY. Manipulation, neuroprolotherapy, diff meds may help. ...Read more

Hello is this safe I'm on 40mg propranolol a day and 250mg ranitidine I've recently started a very low dose of mitrazapine may be weaned off propranolol after 6 weeks if it works?

Hello is this safe I'm on 40mg propranolol a day and 250mg ranitidine I've recently started a very low dose of mitrazapine may be weaned off propranolol after 6 weeks if it works?

It is safe to: Take these medications together. It is not clear to me as to why you need to be weaned off your propranolol as it is not an antidepressant. It is a beta blocker. Monitor your blood pressure carefully to avoid a hypertensive episode as the propranolol is reduced. ...Read more

Its the syndrome: White coat HTN might persist despite medication. Sometimes a beta blocker can blunt the hypertensive response. Sometimes one simply needs another medication in addition to the other medications. Check your BP sitting and standing each morning at home to judge the adequacy of your medications. ...Read more

Lexapro (escitalopram) works wonders for depression where no others have but is somewhat stimulating. Need to take low dose Ativan. ..is this often prescribed?

Lexapro (escitalopram): You are right about this particular property frequently reported about escitalopram. However, this has been mostly considered a positive effect. In some instances, the medication has to be adjusted if a stimulant effect is uncomfortable. One possibility is to adjust the dose a notch down. Also, undiagnosed bipolar conditions could be activated. Ativan (lorazepam) might not resolve this problem. ...Read more

Will Ativan (lorazepam) work as a muscle relaxer & for muscle spasms at low dose like 0.5mg?

Possibly: You are right in that is a very low dose. It's better to start at a lower dose and see if it is effective. Although Ativan (lorazepam) is not typically used for muscle spasms, it is in the same class of medications as Valium, which is longer-acting and more often prescribed for muscle spasms. ...Read more

Using low dose Librax (clinidium and chlordiazepoxide) for IBS, works great. How can I prevent tolerance and needing more? Should I stop occasionally?

Librax (clinidium and chlordiazepoxide) IBS: Librax (clinidium and chlordiazepoxide) is a combo drug- and it contains a benzodiazepine as well as an anti-spasmodic drug. I am on low dose aspirin for MTHFR. Should I avoid prenatals with vitamin K since it works to clot the blood?

I am on low dose aspirin for MTHFR. Should I avoid prenatals with vitamin K since it works to clot the blood?

NO!!!: Vitamin K is ESSENTIAL for good health and your baby could have bleeding problems if you are deficient. While lack of Vit K increases bleeding, taking Vit K does NOT increase risk of clots. See http://bit. Ly/1nzsOh0 for more on K.
You should be taking the L-5-MTHF form of folate (folic acid).
