The same: The lotrimin (clotrimazole)s (clotrimazole) you describe should work the same. Very common area to get a yeast infection, under the breast, I used to get them all the time when I was in my 20's there. The medication in regular lotrimin (clotrimazole) should work fine. ...Read more

My ringworm is on my scalp nd won't seem to come of ive used lotrimin (clotrimazole) but it isn't working what do I do?

"TheWormHasTurned": You might need to take pills too. Maybe for quite a while. That's so that the medication comes up into the scalp through the blood. The scalp. Like the nails, requires special treatment. Sometimes it gets so bad you have to shave your head. So, before you begin looking like a leper, go see a dermatologist for definitive care. Try not to scratch too much, it could get infected with bacteria. ...Read more

My 11 month old has ringworm, I have been treating it with lotrimin for about 5 days. How will I know the treatment is working? Signs of healing?

Drying centrally: "Ringworm" or Tinea Corporis is relatively common acquired fungal skin infection, is amenable to topical therapy with the lotrimin. Apply the cream at least two centimeters around the lesion for two weeks. Resolution of the infection will be apparent as the lesion no longer increases in size and shows drying centrally. Nummular Eczema can look like Ringworm but is treated differently. ...Read more

Can I use lotrimin (clotrimazole) af for ringworm on my penis?

Yes: Assuming your diagnosis is correct lotrimin (clotrimazole) is an effective treatment for fungal infections (ringworm). However "ringworm" infections involving the penis are somewhat unusual. Yeast infections would be a more likely fungal infection involving the penis and yes lotrimin (clotrimazole) would work for that too. ...Read more

Will lotrimin (clotrimazole) ultra for athlete's foot cure ringworm?

Why isn't ringworm responding to OTC lotrimin (clotrimazole)? Do I need a prescription cream?

Not everything: Will work 100% of the time. You can first try a different o.T.C product. (also, this is assuming the diagnosis of ringworm is correct.) if the second o.T.C doesn't work then an rx may be better. ...Read more

Should ringworm spots keep appearing even after treatment (Lotrimin (clotrimazole) Ultra) has been started for 5 days, or does it take awhile for it to take effect?

Ringworm: Ringworm can occasionally be resistant to treatment so you may need a different antifungal. Additionally, there is a common skin disorder that is often misdiagnosed as ringworm called pityriasis rosea which you may have. PR does not respond to topical antifungals but goes away on its own. It starts with one larger patch and then multiple smaller patches develop over a few weeks. ...Read more

I think my son has ringworm and now I have a small one on my face. Can you prescribe medication. We have been already using lotrimin (clotrimazole) but need stronger?

Two issues: The public HT site does not offer diagnosis and or treatment. If you can find a HT prime doc that will accept you, some of those services are possible. Read the site info. If your assumption is correct, lotrimin (clotrimazole) applied twice a day is adequate for ringworm, but may require more than a week to see any change. Treatments for ringworm will not help a skin problem caused by something else. ...Read more

I recently got ringworm and now it's its starting to spread everywhere any tips to stop the spreading? I am using lotrimin (clotrimazole) athletes antifungal cream

May not be ringworm: The basic adage that if the treatment isn't working, the diagnosis may be wrong may apply in this case. The agent in lotrimin (clotrimazole) should help if it is really ringworm, but if not better after a week you might want to have it looked at. A contact dermatitis can have some similar findings. ...Read more

Is lotrimin as strong as lamisil (terbinafine) in treating ringworm? And is it ok to use lotrimin 1% on my 4mo old baby. It looks like she has it on her stomach.

Yes&yes but only if: Lotrimin is an over-the-counter brand of clotrimazole which is an antifungal. While Lotrimin doesn't have specific adult vs pediatric guidelines, clotrimazole is approved for use in children. However, it's best to have your infant evaluated to confirm your suspicions. Lamisil is an OTC brand of terbinafine which is also an antifungal but only approved topically for children older than 12yo. ...Read more
