Does Lh Surge Drop After Ovulation
What is the probability that after getting a positive home ovulation test/lh surge that someone not ovulate?
Good question: There is some variability in9 the accuracy of the available otc ovulation prediction kits. If it's working, then the ovulation should occur for the overwhelming majority (>95%) of patients who experience the lh surge. You can have your doctor order a day 21 Progesterone level, and that will confirm ovulation (or prove it didn't occur), to help you be sure. ...Read more

Does the LH surge (monitored on opk) drop before, during or after you ovulate? My OPK tested positive yesterday but negative today- have i ovulated?
LH AND fertility: Clearblue offers a range of ovulation test and fertility products, all of which monitor luteinizing hormone (LH) in urine to identify the time of peak fertility. The Clearblue Fertility Monitor and Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test also measure another key hormone, estrogen (estrone-3-glucuronide) to identify the period of high fertility that occurs prior to the LH surge. Monitoring these two hormones helps women identify the fertile days of their cycle enabling them to time intercourse to the days when conception is most likely There are only a few days per cycle when a woman is fertile and can conceive. Evidence shows that this time of high fertility usually spans 6 days, starting approximately 5 days prior to ovulation and ending on the day of ovulation itself.1 The 6-day fertile period is affected by: The lifespan of the egg, which is up to 24 hours after ovulation The lifespan of sperm which is more variable. The median is 1.5 days, but sperm can survive up to 5 days in the sperm supportive mucus found in the fertile days of the cycle. Sperm survival is therefore dependent on the type and quantity of the mucus within the cervix, and the quality of the sperm itself. The two most fertile days of this 6-day window are known as peak fertility days. These peak fertile days are the day prior to ovulation and the day that ovulation takes place.2 Studies show that a surge in LH levels occurs 24-36 hours prior to ovulation,2 and that this LH surge is an accurate and reliable marker of impending ovulation.3-7 The urinary LH surge pinpoints the two peak fertile days of a woman's cycle, with intercourse on these days being shown to be associated with the highest likelihood of conception. ...Read more
What are the chances i ovulated butpredictor test that never tested positive just missed the LH surge?
What happens to LH surge during ovulation? Would the LH detector still give a positive read if u are ovulating?
Yes it could: An lh surge is triggered when estrogen production from a growing follicle reaches a certain level. Some lh surges go up and down in 1 day. Others can be positive for 3-4 days. Ovulation usually occurs 24-36 hours after the peak so it is possible that the lh surge could still be positive during or after ovulation. Ovulation is triggered by the lh surge but the lh surge is not changed by ovulation. ...Read more

28-30 day cycle. Took clearblue digital ovulation test (not advanced), & had LH surge detected on day 8 and 11. Why multiple days? & so early?
Variable: Ovulation tests must be done daily at the sam time and with making sure that you have the same urine concentration. A more concentrated urine will give you false positive ovulation test. so, please repeat it again daily till Day 16 or till it is consistently positive. In a 28 to 30 day cycle, you are most likely to ovulate Day 14 to 16. Please start testing only from Day 12 of your cycle next time ...Read more
I have had a positive LH surge from ovulation tests for 5 days. Is this normal? If not, what could the reason be? Cycle are typically 50 days.
I have a CD27, I normally get a LH surge on cd11@11a;however, I took another ovulation test and it was positive today at 11:00a cd14 I'm confused?
Not to worry!: No woman's cycles are 100% identical every month & tthe hormones regulating cycles are VERY complex. A small variation in the rate of maturation of the ovarian follicle can lead to a variation in the timing of the LH surge which can last from 24 to 48 hours. What you observed is a perfectly normal, modest hormonal variation. It's not until menopause that the cyclic variation goes away. ...Read more
Is a 3 day LH surge normal. I get this every month and when I have done tests to check whether I have ovulated. The test come back I have ovulated ?
1st LH surge day 15, negative for LH day 16. Does that mean i'm ovulating on day 16? I typically get two days of LH but this time only one? Fertility?
Day 16 or 17: The lh surge goes up and down over about 24 hours. When you get two days of positive lh tests you are probably catching lh rising the first day and going down on the next day. It can be 24 to 36 hours from detecting the lh surge to ovulating, so you could ovulate on day 16 or up to day 17. Hope this helps. As you are doing iui, ultrasound monitoring of your cycle can help with timing IUI as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
