I have hypothyrodism .. taking eltroxin 100 .. what does it mean to have T3 (liothyronine) and T4 in normal range while having a low TSH ? 0.22
Good control!: Those figures sound swell. The normal range for both circulating thyroid hormones plus a low TSH (= Thyroid stimulating hormone) from your pituitary gland the "controller" at the base of your brain means the medication is being given in the correct dose!! I'm Hypothyroid and have been taking T3 (liothyronine) compound for several years. Recently I had blood work done and the results were,TSH 1.31, T4 6.9, T3 (liothyronine) 6.44. ?
How are you feeling?: More important than your labs is how you are feeling. Thyroid requirements may change over time. The blood tests are not always an accurate indicator. If your hypothyroid symptoms are under control, you may be fine. However, if you are gaining weight, have cold hands and feet, are constipated, your energy levels are down, thinking is muddled or depressed, you may need more thyroid. ...Read more
If my TSH (ultra sensitive) is 5.37, T3 (liothyronine) is 94.23, and T4 is 8.70, do I need to take a free T3 (liothyronine) and T4 test?
Thyroid Tests: Tsh is slightly elevated. I don't know which units of measure the thyroid hormones were tested. Generally, a total T4 isn't as helpful as free t4. A T3 (liothyronine) isn't something we routinely measure unless a patient is hyperthyroid. Are there any antithyroid antibodies? Hard to comment further without more info. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
Hi, does atorvastatin cause parathysis in head and body, does it really affect on nerves , I am using it with tsh=5.5 and T3 (liothyronine) , T4 and tpo normal, ?
No parathysis!: I don't know what parathysis is! however, if you meant paralysis, then no worries. Atorvastatin does not adversely affect nerve function. What concerns me more, as a thyroid specialist, is that your TSH is elevated. I recommend you have it retested and discuss it with an endocrinologist, as you may benefit from thyroid hormone treatment (or increase in dose if already taking it. ...Read more

Take levothyroxine: Hi.
