Lasik and dry eye: I let all my lasik patients know that dry eye could be a problem for 6-12 mon after surgery, and for older patients, mabye longer because they already have dry eye sypmptoms. Your lasik doctor should see you back and make some recommendations as part of your surgery. Scratchiness: in the first day or two after LASIK surgery is normal while the flap is healing. Use artificial tears frequently to keep the surface of your lubricated.Use them every 30 minutes to an hour especially early on. Avoid rubbing the eyes or you risk damaging the flap.
