Most currently FDA-approved appetite medications are dispensed by prescription due to potential side effects and contraindications. Diet pills alone are seldom successful in deriving long-term weight reduction. They should only be taken under the direct supervision of a physician specifically trained in their use as a part of a multi-modal treatment program including diet, exercise, ...Read more

I have been told I have a lesion on my cortical sensory strip. Was told possible ms. Does this sound like ms? I have cognitive and balance issues also

Unknown: Strictly speaking, from an imaging point of view, a single lesion does not a diagnosis of ms make. There are criteria to meet such as McDonalds criteria. Very early in the course of the disease it is more a clinical diagnosis . Follow up studies become important . Your neurologist is the best to know. Best wishes ...Read more

What are the true risks of using marijuna? Am being told that if I use it for my MS it will be fine. This sounds stooopid to me. I have no intention

Medical MJ: There are risks in some, as psychiatric reactions are well recorded, and educational work often deteriorates. Medical marijuana can help with ms spasticity, actually some studies now, but does not improve ms otherwise, and could interfere with a drug such as gilenya, (fingolimod) which shares receptors. At this time, i cannot endorse medical marijuana in ms therapy otherwise, and suggest discussion with eco. ...Read more

Normal brain/neck mri/emg.having tingle/numbness in various places over body along with muscke twitches.sound like MS or would MS be not all over?

Tingling all over: It is highly unusual to have MS and a normal MRI of the brain and the spinal cord in the neck. Although MS can affect the entire body, MS is probably not the cause of your symptoms. Muscle twitching, tingling and numbness can be symptoms of many things. How long do these symptoms last? Do they last for days, or minutes? Why do you have spinal cord compression as a diagnosis? ...Read more

I had a virus, the virus is gone now I have slight ear ache, dizziness, balance problem.Does it sound ear related or possibly MS? Sleep makes it worse

Bet on the virus: Vertigo after a viral upper respiratory infection are fairly common. You can get some inflammation in the vesicular system in your inner ear (part of your ear helping control balance). It goes away after a few days and is nothing to worry about. MS can cause vertigo, but common things be common, bet on the viral infection. If you develop different/new neurology symptoms go see a doc then. ...Read more
