Does it hurt to get a forehead lift done?

Does it hurt to get a forehead lift done?

Not much: There is some discomfort associated with any procedure, but forehead lifts (along with most facial plastic procedures) should not be associated with substantial pain. There are different approaches to a forehead lift. Seek a consolation with a qualified facial plastic surgeon to get answers specific to your individual needs/concerns. ...Read more

Tell me about the small incision NON- endoscopic forehead lift that can frequently be done with same incisions as with endoscope but at a reduced cost?

Tell me about the small incision NON- endoscopic forehead lift that can frequently be done with same incisions as with endoscope but at a reduced cost?

Brow lift options: The lift you mention is often referred to as limited-incision foreheadplasty. It is essentially the same as an endoscopic lift but visualization is not done with the small camera. In my practice there is no difference in price if the endoscope is used. You should seek a surgeon who is experienced and trained in brow lift surgery and who you feel comfortable with. ...Read more

If you have a forehead lift does it affect you in any way?

Depends: Coronal brow lifts where an incision is made at the top of the head can be associated with more scarring, numbness and possible loss of hair around the incision site. Endoscopic brow lifts are less invasive and involve smaller incisions that are associated with a lower likelihood of the above complications. ...Read more

Does having a forehead lift affect your frowning in any way?

Does having a forehead lift affect your frowning in any way?

One can still frown,: One can still frown after healing for several weeks and healing process proceeds. However there are two types of browlift., open and closed. The open technique uses an incision horizontally near the hairline and the forehead is actually "lifted up" and excess skin is remove. The closed lift is done via fiberoptic small scope, and through small incisions. The "lift" is internal with sutures. ...Read more

I had a forehead lift out of the country and it turned out horrible. Who in us can fix it?

Med tourism fails: I would suggest that you call around. To the best of my knowledge, no one specializes in this and due to difficulty with obtaining your medical records as well as the possible use of non-fda approved technologies, devices or medications, it may be difficult to achieve a correction of your problem. Surgeons may also be somewhat reluctant to take on a more risky case due to liability concerns. ...Read more

Is a brow lift the same thing as a forehead lift? I always thought they were the same, because the descriptions i've read have been similar for both. Recently i saw a description for a brow lift that seemed to be lifting only the brow area, not the whole

Depending : Depending on where the incisions are placed, scars may be more or less visible, and yield access and have effects upon different areas. For instance, a direct brow lift, either performed at the upper eyebrow hairline or within the supratarsal crease, essentially repositions just the brow to a higher level and takes up some of the excessive skin redundancy of the upper eyelid. This approach is often used in cases of facial paralysis as part of a treatment plan to restore facial symmetry. A mid-forehead lift has been used to raise both brows typically (can be done unilaterally), places the incision in an already existent crease for better camouflage, and exerts its effect on the brow and lower forehead. Endoscopic, pretrichial, and bicoronal approaches have their effects on the brow complex with increasing potential for scar visibility.Pretrichial and bicoronal approaches offer good control of brow position and can treat laxity/wrinkles of the forehead but typically require skin excision to get rid of redundant tissue.Endoscopic approaches are more minimally invasive with respect to scarring and typically are used for brow repositioning. ...Read more

Will my brow and facial movement come back after a forehead lift?

Usually: Sometimes, in the early post-op period after a forehead lift, the muscles may not move like they usually did. This is typically due to a stretched or bruised nerve, which recovers in about 8 weeks or so, and the muscles start to move again. If the muscles in the forehead were cut or partially resected as a part of your surgery, then there will be less motion than before - as desired. ...Read more

What else would you suggest for a bald man who does not want the scarring from a coronal forehead lift nor the illusion of an even higher forehead?

What else would you suggest for a bald man who does not want the scarring from a coronal forehead lift nor the illusion of an even higher forehead?

Low brow position: The most common scenario is that of a low brow position. Options include: a browpexy via an upper bleph incision, and brow lift via a direct incisional approach with a scar hidden in the eyebrow area, and an endoscopic brow lift, which has several small incisions in the scalp. Best to see a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss the differences in detail. ...Read more
