Most likely fine: If there is a lot of iron in the pigment in the tattoo, it might heat up a bit in the MRI scanner. It would be worse at higher field strength such as 3T. It is worse if the tattoo is in the scanned area because more energy is deposited there. For a brain MRI there should be no effect. ...Read more

However, if your physician deems you need such a test, many physician owned facilities will arrange to do such a test at a reduced cost and sometimes at cost.
