If my nail still hurts 4 months after ingrown toenail surgery would you recommend having a total nail alvusion for the pain to stop?

Have it looked at.: You may still have a piece of nail in the corner or a recurrence of the problem. You may want to have a permanent procedure to remove the recurrent ingrown toenail. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

I will have my toenail surgery in 2 days. Will it be more painful than ingrown toenail pain?

No.: Generally, once the ingrown nail is removed, you have much less pain. The doctor will numb your toe for the procedure, and afterward, it's like having a splinter removed--as soon as the pressure is gone, it starts feeling better immediately!

I have a ingrown toenail for about 2 years now and I want to get surgery but in 5 months, is it bad to wait 5 mnths to get surgery.?

I have a ingrown toenail for about 2 years now and I want to get surgery but in 5 months, is it bad to wait 5 mnths to get surgery.?

Depends: On the situation. If there is pain and/or infection, some treatment needs to be performed but not necessarily surgery. Sometimes and incision and drainage may be needed and ingrown portion of nail needs to be cut out. If the problem can be treated palliatively without infection than definitive surgery can wait.

Do ingrown toenails heal themselves? I get them alot & they usually go away but I have one now and don't want surgery. Should I wait? It isn't infected

An ingrown nail: Actually would not go away, unless you cut a piece of nail away, If there was an infection this sometimes goes away as the body can be strong enough to get rid of the infection….try soaking and applying topical antibiotic but if it does't get better go to your local podiatrist for treatment.

I keep getting ingrown toenails. I have had minor surgery 3 times on my toes and major surgery done once. They are very painful. What should I do?

Ingrown toe nail: Ingrown toe nails do hurt. You have had a reoccurring toe nail that has been treated and yet it comes back. You will need to see a podiatrist and have a partial matrixectomy (kill the part of the tissue that grows the nail). That should take care of it.

Is ingrown toenail surgery painful?

Ingrown nails...: The surgical part of it will be painless if you are anesthetized properly. Getting an injection to numb up the toe isn't the most comfortable feeling, however it only lasts for a few seconds then the rest of the removal is pain-free.

Is it normal for your toenail to fall off after haveing ingrown toenail surgery?

Is it normal for your toenail to fall off after haveing ingrown toenail surgery?

It can.: Any time you stress out a toenail with surgery or even a small in-office procedure, there's a small risk of the nail falling off completely. Nails don't tend to take a joke very well, and if they're angry enough after a nail procedure, they may just give up and start over. (this is a very rare occurrence, though.).
