Have your doctor check your "ionized calcium" which is a much more accurate determination of whether your calcium is low or not. Low parathyroid hormone can cause low calcium, as can certain kidney diseases, and other problems. Make sure you are on calcium and d. Your d level is already ok. Check w/docto. ...Read more

Does magnesium have a influence on calcium? My calcium is pretty high but when i take mg i stop having panic att.Can i take mg a week till i see a doc?

Calcium-Mg balance: Yes, calcium (ca) and magnesium (mg) influence each other in the body. Mg stimulates calcitonin, which draws ca out of the blood and soft tissues back into the bones. Mg is also needed for ca to be absorbed. Calcium excites the brain's nmda receptor; mg guards this gate & also neutralizes Adrenalin surges. You could try 250-300 mg of mg citrate powder/day -- it's better absorbed than mg oxide. ...Read more
