Does Herpes Make You Itch All Over
I had unprotected sex about 2 weeks ago. Ever since then I have been itching all over my body. I don't have any other symptoms. Is this herpes?
Get Checked: It can be so many different things. It can be as simple as an allergy to some lubricant you used. It may not be even related to the episode. It may be all coincidental in timing. It can also be infections. My sincere advice is to see your gynecologist.
There are different types of herpes infections; herpes simplex infection of mouth (gingivostomatitis) and lips (labialis) are the most common. Others include genital herpes, and herpes zoster. Herpes infection could very mild to very dangerous depending on the type and location of the body affected. I ...Read more
Me & my boyfriend been having itching all over body for months now, it itches so bad that it leaves ugly scars?
General itchiness: With limited information and not able to see of you and your boyfriend have skin rashes or how it looks like, we could not give you specific advise. It seems that both of you have been scratching really bad that it leaves scar. Itching by itself does not leave scar. You should come see a local doctor to be evaluated and treated. Either an allergist or a dermatologist would be able to help you.See 1 more doctor answer
My 5 year old son wakes up itching all over his body ans whereever he itches, skin becomes red there. Happening since last 2 mornings?
? Acute urticaria: Or just dry skin during winter, common. Bathe him with a cream soap before he goes to bed, pat his skin dry, apply a moisturizer right away to trap the moisture, and use OTC children's antihistaminic, read the labels carefully for proper dosing, if no improvement, see his doctorSee 1 more doctor answer
My brother has suffered from very severe itching all over his body for about 8 years now. He itches right after bathing or when he sweats.?
Cholinergic?: If he has itchy bumps also, then it is called cholinergic urticaria which flares up after the body gets heated up then cools off. This can often be prevented by taking an antihistamine such as zyrtec (cetirizine). It may go away by itself with time but is not a serious health issue.See 1 more doctor answer
Itching all over the body. No rash nothing at all. It just itches a lot all over. I put baby oil after I bath still its not okay!! : (?
See dermatologist: If the itching is so bothersome, you should consult a dermatologist since dry skin is apparently not the issue. The itch pathway is far more complex than we had thought and no longer just a matter of histaminic action. (I assume you have tried antihistamine already. If not, you may give it a try).
Ok I've been itching for bout 3 monts now and I itch all over. What would be causing this and why?
Many possibilities: Many different causes include allergic reaction to medications, food, chemicals, environmental allergens, materials, clothing, detergent, soap, plants, animals. It can also be caused by scabies, atopic dermatitis, or an underlying medical disorder. You should see a doctor or dermatologist for evaluation and treatment. You may need to get a biopsy or patch testing.See 1 more doctor answer
? systemic problem: Itching all over the body without rash could be a sign of any one of many systemic diseases. Please see a good primary care doctor or internist for evaluation. Trying to list all possible causes to you would just be guessing and get you more worried. Good luck:)See 2 more doctor answers
Generalized itch: Step one, stop all medications and suppliments (ask your md before stopping any prescription meds) step two: stop all chemical exposures to topical lotions ; creams, and get a new non-fragranced body soap and change to an unfragranced detergent (all-free etc.) avoid dryer sheets of softeners as well. It this does not help, see a pcp or and allergist.
Allergic reaction: You should seek medical assistance at your local GP. This could be an allergic reaction; medication side effect or progression of your presenting illness for what you have received treatment. Most important though lets exclude and manage the allergic reaction.
Itching: Because the causes of widespread itching can vary from lots of benign things to some very bad things you should really see a doctor. Most causes are benign though.See 1 more doctor answer
Many possibilities: There can be many causes of generalized it. The answer could be as simple as dry skin but a wide variety of other causes exists. They include thyroid abnormalities, liver dysfunction, kidney failure, iron deficiency anemia, and allergies in addition to other causes. I would recommend seeing your primary doctor for further evaluation.See 1 more doctor answer
Try a few things: Take a quick shower, then apply a topical moisturizer lotion (lightly to everywhere that is itchy). This may resolve the issue, which then was likely dry skin. If not, over-the-counter antihistamine (Benadryl, Zyrtec, similar) and get checked at an Urgent Care to be certain nothing else going on.See 1 more doctor answer
