Possibly wax: Moving your external ear changes the amount of air in your ear canal,and could cause your ear to pop a little. It's normal to have some ear wax. It's possible that having ear wax in the ear canal could make a noise when you move your ear as well. Not related to TMJ: As a dentist all i can say is that your symtom is not related to your tm joint as it does not come and go with jaw joint movement. In fat, you probably do not have any TMJ dystunction if you can open and close fully without pain or noise. Remember, an anteriorly positioned articular disc is normal in better than one-third the population and is asymptomatic. Look for an ear problem and not tmj. ...Read more

?? inner ear: Your symptoms are fairly non-specific. The inner ear does not cause pain. A middle ear infection may hurt. If you have wax build up you need your external ear canals cleaned. Sinus pains are non-specific and have no relation to the intolerance to loud noises that you have. You need to see and ENT doctor for a diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more

Eustachian tube: This could be ear wax, but may also be your eustachian tube trying to equalize the pressure between your ear and your sinuses. It is more common is you are stuffy. Heat to the ear can help with pain. Treat congestion and allergies if needed with over the counter medications like antihistamines, allergy tablets, Nasacort (triamcinolone) steroid spray or salt water sprays.
