Does Having An Underactive Thyroid Reduce Male Fertility
Does Thyroid have an effect on testosterone ? i mean optimal thyroid help to have good testosterone level or it has no effect ?
Thyroid/testosterone: I am not aware of any link between thyroid and testosterone. If your thyroid levels are OK you do not need any medication for that. If not your doctor will prescribe the right dosing. Testosterone should be normal in a 29 year old man. Please have your doctor order a lab test for this. ...Read more
Does taking daily spearmint tea to reduce elevated testosterone levels (caused by PCOS) have an effect on thyroid? I have hypothyroidism
PCOS: Spearmint tea does not reduce testosterone levels to the degree necessary to assist with PCOS. It also does not have a clinical effect on thyroid hormone production. There are medications to induce ovulation if you are trying to conceive, but oral BCP are the best therapy for PCOS, and prevent other problems with PCOS. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have trisomy 8 mosaicism without any physical or mental difficulties. I have low platelets and neutrophil levels. Is rai suitable for me hyperthyroi?
Shouldn't . . .: Thyroid controls metabolism but not sexual development or maturation. Pituitary controls both thyroid & testes but if he's only missing thyroid, then testes should be ok. However, if testosterone is low, need to figure out why. Low t might be due to testicular issue (coincident w/thyroid) or be due to pituitary problem (see above) or perhaps liver (via excess iron - hemochromatosis), etc. Go c doc. ...Read more
Why does mefenamic acid decrease female fertility what does it do to a female body ie ovulation hormaones?
It doesn't : I answered this a day ago, and don't usually repeat so you can get answers from other doctors. Since you're still asking and no ones answering, i say again: it doesn't. I wasn't guessing. Ponstel (mefenamic acid) (in the us) is a drug like advil or ibuprofen. It doesn't affect fertility. There are rhesus monkey studies where high doses of NSAID inhibit ovulation, but if you're not a monkey i wouldn't fret. :). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
