Does Haveing Chills Mean Ur Diabete
Most likely not: I could stretch and say yes (high sugar contributes to infection and your yeast could give vaginal burning; circulation could be affected with peripheral arterial disease so don't smoke! ; blood sugar irregularity could mess with your hypothalamic set point and make you feel cold), but I'm not going to. Look for more common explanations for your complaints and keep your sugars in excellent control. ...Read more
No: Hi. Genetics play a very strong role in type 2 diabetes and generally much less of a role in type 1. We don't know what type your dad is. Having said that, type 2 has a HUGE lifestyle component...live healthily, eat healthily, exercise regularly, maintain ideal body weight, and your type 2 risk goes way down even with strong family history. If you suspect diabetes, get tested. Good luck! ...Read more
Urine Ketones: Yes and no. Ketones end up in urine as a result of a person using fat as an energy source. This can happen during dieting, during fasting, anytime carbohydrate intake is limited. Diabetes results from Insulin being absent or ineffective. Insulin makes it possible for sugars to enter cells and become energy. If Insulin is absent or doesn't work that is like fasting. So, yes or no. ...Read more

I have noticed that very occasionally I have a sweet smelling urine but not all the time, does this definitely mean diabetes?
Hi, I have a qestion regarding the ogtt (75 g): if the 1 h result is above 11 mmol/l (200 mg/dl) could that mean diabetes? Or only the 2 h one? Thx:)
The 2 hour one.: This test is designed to see how the body reacts to a sugar challenge after 2 hours. It is also important to get your glucose level before the test, as anything >125 mg/dl is diagnostic of diabetes anyway. As for the ogtt, if your 2 hour is <=140 mg/dl, it's normal, if >140 but <200, it's impaired glucose tolerance, and if > 200, it confirms diabetes. I hope this helps. ...Read more

Not at all: Hi. A normal glucose doesn't exclude diabetes! Most of my diabetic patients have LOTS of normal glucoses because they're well controlled! Even if you're on NO diabetes meds, depending on the stage of the diabetes, blood glucose can fluctuate between high and normal. Diagnose diabetes by ABNORMALITY in fasting glucose, random glucose, A1c, and glucose tolerance test (all with their own criteria). ...Read more

Possibilities: Sudden changes in the distribution of blood to the skin surface may create a differential temperature difference resulting in chills. Flight or Fight: As you've indicated "goose bumps" occur in response to cold as your body's way of generating heat. But this reaction (piloerection) also occurs in response to strong emotion. When your body temperature is real hot and you always get cold chills through your body what does that mean?
It's all physiology: Bacteria and viruses that cause human illnesses have specific requirements; oxygen, sugar, protein, and a limited temperature range for life and replication. With chills we bundlle up & reduce body heat loss ...Read more
