Not need to: The thyroid antibodies levels will be present land stay present. What you need to do is look at the thyroid blood test such as TSH, free T4, total T4 that's what you're trying to treat. You may be wiser to go on Synthroid (thyroxine) and stay on Armour Thyroid. You can discuss this with your physician ...Read more
Pregnant, have hashimotos, levels are norm. 6/6/2013 is my cycle date and I am mildly cramping. Is this norm or a miscarry? No other symptoms.
Probably ok: Mild cramping early in pregnancy is the norm and probaly due to uterine stretching, I would discuss with your primary ob, look into getting an u/s around 6-7 weeks for viability, I would be concerned if the cramps are painful like a cycle or bleeding like a cycle. Congrats and remember only 10-15% of pregnancies end up in misses so the odds are you are ok. ...Read more
I have hashimoto's thyroiditis and pcos. I'm learning new things almost every day. My main question is, can a miscarrage kick-start both of these?
No: Pcos is very common, affecting 5-10% of women. Thyroid problems are also common, and are more common in women than in men. A miscarriage would not cause either of these conditions. Two or more miscarriages is a reason to get checked out for causes of miscarriage, though. Best wishes. ...Read more
I have hashimoto's (hypothyroid and tested positive for thyroid antibodies). I take eltroxin but still had two misscariages. How can I prevent it?
Stay positive: Miscarriages are more common than many realize. It is discouraging to have had 2 but it still may simply be bad luck. Meanwhile, make sure your thyroid levels are in the normal range. Ideally your TSH should be less than 2 and it does not respond quickly to treatment. It is the thyroid level and not the antibodies that affect your fertility. Then get checked further if you continue to miscarry. ...Read more

What diseases could cause a young woman with Hashimotos to have gastroparesis and POTS and POTS symptoms worsen with Synthroid.
Since sjogrens can damage the thyroid would tpo be produced because of sjogrens and cause hashimotos, or is hashi always a separate disease?
Separate diseases: There is a significant co-existence of these two diseases but they are separate diseases. Both are auytoimmune in nature but the presence of sjogren's disease does not cause the development of thyroid antibodies nor the development of hashimoto's. ...Read more

What's not right?: In the information you present what is that concerns you? BP is fine as an isolated number.
