In a larger study of 70 pregnant women with nausea and vomiting, those who received a similar dosage of ginger felt less nauseous and did not vomit as much as those who received placebo. Pregnant women should ask their doctor before taking ginger, and should be careful not take more ...Read more

Does that include a grapefruit juice soda? Also known as Squirt? Can I not drink it while on lexapro (escitalopram)?
Should be avoided: Squirt does has natural grapefruit juice in it, so it can indeed cause you blood levels of Lexapro (escitalopram) to rise. Your genetics also play a role in determining how much of an effect there is. While it's not likely that a single can of Squirt less than once or twice a week would cause a serious problem, it could. I would stay away from it. As other sour fruit options go, there's cranberry juice. ...Read more

I'd like to drink a tea that contains chamomile and catnip but I take Buspar (buspirone) and Welbutrin. Would 1 cup make a difference?
Probably not: I'm not aware of any interactions between these herbs and those drugs, but what's probably more important to understand is that the average American teabag of herbal tea when prepared in the usual way yields a VERY weak brew; so for even a theoretical chemical interaction to occur would require a VERY potent herb. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
