Im going to pain management in the morning to get a shot in my back what should I expect to happen and how am I gonna feel after, and does it hurt?
Aftereffects: "a shot"! this is likely an epidural injection where he/she injects a steroid into or onto the area that is damaged. If successful the pain relief will be quick due to the local anesthesia, then may wear off for a few days until the steriod effect come in (5 to 10 days). Worst effects i see are recovery from anesthesia, which is variable, but may take a few hours to wear off. ...Read more
Slight pain: The TB test (PPD) is administered just under the skin (intradermal) so the needle is not inserted deep into the skin. A very small needle is used for this test and it will be over before you even know it. Use of distraction techniques while being injected might help relieve the discomfort or anxiety associated with this mildly painful procedure. ...Read more

Not really: Pain is actually very subjective, while someone may feel it hurts terribly, someone else may not feel it at all. A big part of it is how 'heavy-handed' or gentle your dentist is, and you can talk to some of his/her patients to get an idea. Ask your dentist to put a bit of topical anesthetic before you get the shot, and it will help you in feeling less of the pinch of the needle. ...Read more

Will i get anesthesia before my radiesse (dermal fillers) injections? I hate shots. I always end up feeling like a little kid, because they hurt so bad. Will i be able to get something to prevent the pain before getting radiesse (dermal fillers)?
Most surgeons will give the patient the option of a local anesthetic injection or even the use of topical anesthetic (numbing cream). I generally do not give oral medications to be taken prior to injections. Products like Restylane (dermal fillers) and juverderm come with local anesthetic already mixed into the syringe. These products tend to cause less discomfort than Radiesse during injections.
Consult a plastic surgeon in your area.
Best of luck to you.

Whenever i get an intermuscular injection or a vaccine/pneumonia shot in my upper arm, it hurts for days. Why is that?
Normal immune system: Pain at the site of an immunologic injection (vaccine) is usually showing that your immune system is working well and the vaccine is having its desired result. Other times it can be simply from a deep bruise. Both respond to Acetaminophen and cold compresses initially, but warm compresses may make the pain feel better after the first 24 hours. ...Read more

Knee arthritis: If you do not want knee replacement or are not a candidate for any given reason, there is a procedure called Genicular nerve ablation which will relieve the pain for about a year at a time. Try to find a pain physician in your area. Much better than getting steroid injections on a regular basis. It makes your knee joint numb so you won't feel any pain and is a very safe and effective procedure. ...Read more

A tiny bit: If done as usual, you would receive a little local anesthetic that would sting until it puts the skin to sleep. Local anesthetic is usually given with the steroid (ask!) so that actually you may be pain free for several hours. I'm a 45 y.O. Black female & my bones & joints ache quite a bit. Occasionally, I get b vitamin & amino acid shots & I hurt much less. Why is that?
Can't be certain: The uses of vitamin injections to help one feel good has been done for years, but i know of no scientific data yet to confirm doing that.
