Gastritis: If you have gastritis then eating can be uncomfortable. Are you on treatment like PPI- prevecid or H2 blockers like ranitidine? Would also check for h pylori. Possible: If you have had reactions to statin drugs before Lipitor it makes your symptoms more likely drug related. 2 weeks off the statin drugs will help your physician decide. Not sure: I'm unaware of a link between GERD and itchy scalp. Since it is, the indoor heated/dry air can contribute to scalp dryness/itching. Acid reflux when you are lying flat at night can inflame the exit site for the eustachian tubes that drain the middle ear, leading to increased pressure on both sides. If there is nasal congestion from reflux, poor breathing/snoring at night can cause headaches. ...Read more

Advil=Ibuprofen: Ibuprofen is an NSAID or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Naproxen is another example of this. Both are available over-the-counter w/o prescription. Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Acetaminophen is not an nsaid. Nsaids can irritate your stomach & cause gastritis or worse, eg ulcers. So can you take advil? Yes. Should you take advil? I don't know. Best to discuss your options w/your family doc or whoever diagnosed. ...Read more
