Does Farting Spread Hepatitis
Possibly HepA & HepE: Hepa & hepe are contagious by fecal-oral route, meaning a tiny bit of poop has to go from one person into another's mouth. Possibly, flatulence (farting) that includes "more" than just gas, can send enough poop by way of underwear or by way of hands to transmit hepa & hepe. This is a reason why health departments post warnings when a restaurant employee has hepa. The odor does not contain virus. ...Read more
11years old constipation with lot of gas. Took librax (clinidium and chlordiazepoxide) for 3 months with stelabid. Ultra sound show fatty liver. Hypatitus b and c are -ve. Pencryas ok?
Constipation: If you have chronic constipation, then more fiber likely just makes you bloated and more gassy. This is because you most likely have a combination of evacuation issues along with a colonic motility issue. The best solution at this point would be to see a specialist and get labs, thyroid studies followed by a physiologic work up of your colon. In the meantime.. Low fiber diet with regular laxative. ...Read more

So don't worry about that. It is good to support family or friends who may have these diseases- so education about this is important. There are treatments that can help too- so hope u can get an MD to assist. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Yes...maybe : Here are two extremes. A monogamous heterosexual couple has one partner who finds out he has hcv. If the other partner is negative the cdc does not recommend condom use. On the other hand, we have an epidemic of hcv in men who have unprotected anal sex with other men. Condom use is strongly recommended in this case. New partners should use condoms for hcv, hiv, hep b, syphilis, gc, chlamydia, etc. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Why are we demanding hazmat / well protective suit to treat ebola but not for HIV or hepatitis? thats just weird. They all spread with bodily fluids.
Severity: There is suggestion that Ebola can be transmitted via air and thus it is a much more serious problem than HIV or Hepatitis B or C (for which there are effective treatments). It is my understanding that the number of viral particles in a speck of fluid is many millions higher than with HIV. Given that Ebola kills 50% of those infected, it is better to err on the side of caution. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Forever?: Approximately 15-25% of patients with hepatitis c infection are able - through unknown mechanisms - to clear the virus through their own immune system. The other % have chronic (long-term) infection and could spread this for life. Bear in mind that the means of acquisition for approx 20% of people is never fully determined. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
How easily does hepatitis spread from dried blood between inanimate objects? Worried about having touched the same things as someone who was bleeding!
No risk, no worries: The hepatitis viruses are rarely if ever caught by exposure to blood in the environment, and contact with dried blood is especially low risk. And without visible blood on things you touched (door knobs, towels, utensils, shared toilet, etc), for sure there is no significant risk. Don't worry about it. ...Read more
