Constipation: If you have chronic constipation, then more fiber likely just makes you bloated and more gassy. This is because you most likely have a combination of evacuation issues along with a colonic motility issue. The best solution at this point would be to see a specialist and get labs, thyroid studies followed by a physiologic work up of your colon. In the meantime.. Severity: There is suggestion that Ebola can be transmitted via air and thus it is a much more serious problem than HIV or Hepatitis B or C (for which there are effective treatments). It is my understanding that the number of viral particles in a speck of fluid is many millions higher than with HIV. Given that Ebola kills 50% of those infected, it is better to err on the side of caution. ...Read more
