Acne scars: If the scars disappear temporarily by stretching the skin of the affected area they can disappear with injections of dermafillers (restylane, juvederm etc.)and possibly with creams that contain the same (hyaluronic acid). In cases of acne, peeling is a consideration ( chemical facial peel) to treat acne scars. ...Read more

How can I reduce the appearance of acne scars?

How can I reduce the appearance of acne scars?

Multiple options: Acne scars come in several "flavors." there are ice pick scars, boxcar scars, rolling scars and atrophic scars. Acne scars are difficult to treat. There is no "magic bullet." scar excision/revision, injectable fillers/fat, subcision, laser, chem peel, dermabrasion, etc. Many treatments can "improve" the flatness of the scar, and/or texture of the skin, but it will not make your skin flawless. ...Read more

Does Mederma get rid or reduce the appearance of acne scars as it says?

Does Mederma get rid or reduce the appearance of acne scars as it says?

Scar treatment: Over the counter scar remedies can help soften and reduce appearance of scars. There is nothing that erases a scar. No laser, no cream, no surgery... All of these can only "improve" the appearance of a scar. If the scars are significant and deep, i would recommend seeking out the advise of a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon in your area. ...Read more

I understand massaging acne scars greatly improves their appearance, what should I use while massaging (that wont clog pores)?

I understand massaging acne scars greatly improves their appearance, what should I use while massaging (that wont clog pores)?

Massage won't help: Massaging acne scars will not improve the appearance of the scars. My preferred treatment for acne scars is using a fractionated co2 laser to treat the entire face and then concentrating on the scarred areas with another pass. This won't remove the scars completely but definitely helps the appearance of the scars. ...Read more

Will massaging acne scars with honey or olive oil improve appearance?

Will massaging acne scars with honey or olive oil improve appearance?

Prob not effective: I have not heard of this as being an effective treatment but you can always try your own experiment using traditional treatments as recommended on one side of the face and the hone/olive oil on the other half. Massage is always good for scars. Honey may have antibacterial properties. Olive oil is a decent moisturizing agent but may blog ducts leading to worsening acne. ...Read more

Will it be visible to the people around me that i've had a mesotherapy treatment? I work as a news anchor, so my appearance is very important. I'm hoping to get rid of some acne scars and wrinkles on my cheeks. Will mesotherapy leave any bruising? If so,

Will it be visible to the people around me that i've had a mesotherapy treatment? I work as a news anchor, so my appearance is very important. I'm hoping to get rid of some acne scars and wrinkles on my cheeks. Will mesotherapy leave any bruising? If so,

Save your money: See a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon. Injecting "vitamins" will be a waste of time & money. Homeopathy is strictly placebo only. For tv you need only makeup. Don't believe the hype. A few blemishes are never ugly. Major scars can be improved with cosmetic proceedures. If it sounds too good to be true, it is not true. ...Read more

Mesotherapy : Mesotherapy involves multiple small injections into the skin of various chemicals depending on the intent of the treatment. Typically reddness and swelling will be present after the procedure and can last for several hours to days after the treatment. A optional technique is the use of a medical dermaroller which is roller with multiple fine needles that is applied by rolling the needlesover the area after applying a topical anesthetic. The small needles cause increased circulation into the dermis layer of skin as well as the release of growth factors from the blood plasma that stimulate fibroblasts to form new collagen and fill in acne scars. The procedure is performed in the office and swelling and reddness will last for a few days. Cover makeup and sunscreen can be applied over the reddness the day after the procedure. Depending on the depth of the scaring multiple sessions may be required to acheive desired results. ...Read more
