Avoid raw meats: pregnant women are 10 more likely to get listeriosis isymtoms of listeria include headaches, muscle aches fever ,chills, nausea and vomiting . you should consult your doctor no and immediately if symtoms occur it can be treated with antibiotics. it can cause miscarriage prematurity, MR, blindness , and death
can deli ham and turkey that says cooked on package still cause listeria? might be pregnant, not sure if ok to eat ham & turkey sandwich.
Food borne bacteria: Any bacterium can infect anyone when not properly refrigerated or cooked to an appropriate temperature prior to ingestion. Pre cooked and packaged foods still require the same conditions and if you are unsure of the above, common sense says to forego partaking the food item, pregnant or not.
Not usually: The time it takes to get infected, then reproduce, then cause symptoms is usually days. While almost any infection can trigger a guillan barre syndrome, it can also be due to vaccines, medications or often times for unknown reasons.
Bacteria: Infection with listeria monocytogenes. This infection is associated with infants, older people (>50), and pregnant women. Route of infection is usually infected food.
See below: Here are dietary recommendations for people at high risk of listeriosis including pregnant women. * avoid soft cheeses * avoid foods from delicatessen counters, e.g., prepared salads, meats. * avoid raw or unpasteurized milk * avoid refrigerated pates and other meat spreads * cook leftover foods or ready-to-eat foods until steaming hot before eating.
Listeria: You need antibiotics for this infection. Herbs can boost your immune system but not kill the bug.See 1 more doctor answer
Risk increased: Diabetics have increased risk from infections due to the systemic effects of diabetes. However, an increased risk does not mean that you personally will get complications, and many diabetics do very well with standard treatment. It's always a good idea to monitor your blood sugars more frequently when you are sick.See 1 more doctor answer
