Does E45 Cream Get Rid Of Tinea Cruris
What can I do to get rid of jock itch the fastest, powders? Or creams? I've been using lotrimin (clotrimazole) but it doesn't seem to be working
Tinea cruris: Tinea cruris is Jock itch. It can be difficult to treat. Its warm and moist and the fungus just love that. There's a lot of creams and gels available. And Lamisil (terbinafine) is excellent. But sometimes this isn't enough. If you want to be a purist...Lamisil (terbinafine) orally (Terfinabine @ 250mg a day) can be used. Good old fashioned oral fluconazole should work as well. Either way. You'll need a prescription.
Antifungal creams: Tinea is a fungal skin infection (often mis-leadingly called "ringworm") that is easily treated with over-the-counter antifungal creams (found in the ahtelete's foot section at you pharmacy) such as lotrimin (clotrimazole). Follow the directions; if not better see a dermatologist.
Several methods: 1. Selsun lotion 2. Antifungal agent taken by mouth (e.g. Ketoconazole) #1 takes a week or more, bathing with the lotion that should be left on the skin for several minutes. #2 can be done in as little as 1 to 3 days- optimally by taking the medication, then a 1/2 hr later, engaging in activity that will allow you to sweat. Remember to wash your undershirts after therapy to avoid reinfection.See 1 more doctor answer
TINEA VERSICLOR: You are using selsun shampoo for tinea versicolor, and if you are getting married and want it cleared fast you can take a short course of itracanazole200mgm everyday for 7days or ketocanazole 400mgm single dose, or flucanozole400mgm single dose but check with your doctor if it is ok to take and you will need a prescription for these drugs.
Color returns slow: Once treated with either selenium sulfide, topical antifungals such as ketoconazole or oral antifungals only the scaling will be gone. The color in hypo pigmented tine versicolor will return very slowlyin those cases the tine versicolor appeared lighter than the surrounding skin. Uvb light can be used if ne essay to repugnant skin, although it will return when exposed to sun.See 1 more doctor answer
Tinea Versicolor: It normally takes two week to resolve the tinea versicolor organisms but it can take months for the skin color to return to normal. This treatment is not curative but controls the organism for a time. You will have to be retreated at a later time as the tinea versicolor will return.
Anti-fungals. Selsum: It can be treated pretty successfully with prescription anti-fungals like ketoconazole or diflucan (fluconazole) - or even Selsum Blue shampoo used as a body wash (google it!). However whatever conditions lead to the original infection are likely to persist and it often returns. Treatments tend to be safe and pretty cheap...especially the Selsum Blue.See 1 more doctor answer
Tinea versicolor: You can try head and shoulders shampoo applied as a lotion every other day for 2 weeks. If this does not work, your doctor can prescribe pills which are very effective in this fungal infection.

How can I cure/get rid of tinea versicolor...Have used selsun blue...Taken perscribed pills by dermatologists...Nothing works. Help!?
Persistence: Tinea versicolor takes time to clear & often recurs. Perhaps prescription strength selenium sulfide lotion (2.5%) applied for 10 minutes daily for 7 days will work better than otc selsun blue (due to higher concentration of active ingredient). Washing clothing, bedding, bath linens (or perhaps using an ultraviolet wand) to destroy the fungus will speed recovery.
I suffer from tinea versicoolor was wondering is there a good at home remedy for his condition, its very embarrassing and haven't been able to get rid?
Tinea Versicolor: Medicines such as ketoconazole, Clotrimazole and Miconazole are some of the treatments recommended. Some of the dandruff shampoos also work efficiently in eliminating tinea versicolor. Shampoos are effective as they contain selenium that fights the fungus. The affected area can be treated by spreading the shampoo and leaving it overnight.
Difficult: I usually start my patients with tinea versicolor on a regimen of selenium sulfide lotion 2.5% daily to affected area as well as a one time dose of ketoconazole 400 mg. Recurrences are common and I advise patients to continue using the selenium sulfide monthly to prevent recurrences after the initial intensive treatment.
Medication: See your dermatologist for anti-fungal medication.Get a more detailed answer ›
I have tinea versicolor on my body and it's bothering me I want to know how can I get rid of it, what can I use?
Medications: Depends on how extensive it it. If it covers a large portion of your body then ointment/cream would be inconvenient to apply all over. If it is just small amount you could use Ketoconazole 2% cream apply once daily for 14 days. If extensive then see your pcp for oral ketoconazole.
