How do you know if you need a colon cleanser?

How do you know if you need a colon cleanser?

You don't: You don't need a colon cleanser! if your colon is damaged or sick, this needs to be treated. Otherwise, there is nothing to cleanse your colon from. I've been present at colonoscopies and believe me there are no deposits in the colon that colon cleanse sales people claim to remove with their products! ...Read more

Can you die from overdosing on colon cleanser pills?

Can you die from overdosing on colon cleanser pills?

Yes, don't!: Healthtap physicians have repeatedly addressed colon "cleansers" with a clear "no" answer. There is virtually no value to colon flushes, cleansers, enemas, irrigation machines when the technique is accomplished to "detox" or eliminate "accumulated waste." the "no" response also applies to liver detoxes! there are few real health benefits, but sigificant unjustified risk, as you've questioned. ...Read more

What is the best colon cleanser on the market? I have a severe bLoating, & constipation. I need something targeting a total cleanse. Thank you!

Be careful: as products marketed as colon clenses have no proven benefit and are nothing other than laxatives. I don't know what products you are looking at but there is no way to "cleanse " the colon to rid you of your issues. If anything you will have only temporary relief. Consider discussion with your doctor or referral to a GI doctor ...Read more

Is there any way to cleanse your liver? Not sure if that is the right terminology, but similar to how you would do a colon cleanser.

Is there any way to cleanse your liver? Not sure if that is the right terminology, but similar to how you would do a colon cleanser.

Both wrong: Liver metabolizes, detoxifies chemicals (good, bad, natural, synthetic, whatever) generally into nontoxic substances. Large capacity. Common toxins:excess alcohol, excess sugars, fats, etc. Caffeine seems minerals, helpful in chr. liver disease. Silymarin, in milk thistle, not well absorbed by mouth, might work IV (not available). Colon cleanses don't detox-you poop, lose fluid, minerals, bacteria ...Read more

Not recommended: We don't recommend quickly losing large amounts of weight as that's usually water weight that's lost, leading to dehydration. "Colon cleansers" are often unmonitored laxatives which we don't recommend using regularly, or even occasionally. Check w/your doc to make sure you're otherwise healthy, including no hypothyroidism. The road to health..: ...does NOT lead through your rectum. Colon cleansing can cause vomiting, electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, jaundice & kidney failure. It was discredited a century ago. It may sound appealing but there is NO scientific evidence for it. Claims that toxins in your GI tract cause health problems eg arthritis, allergies, asthma are nonsense. How long do I use sanar colon cleanser?

Colon cleanse: The colon does not require "cleansing." The process of having a bowel movement takes care of that nicely. There is no buildup of toxins or other materials in the colon. Just eat a lot of fiber, drink plenty of liquids, and if constipated, consider an actual fiber supplement. See your gastroenterologist at age 50, or sooner if you're having problems. Those are the keys to good colon health. ...Read more
