ANS: there are a number of "bad" smells in diabetes. Suggest she is leaking urine if it smells like pee/ammonia. Smells sweet it may be vaginal drainage monilia. If like stool, leaking BM. No.: Diabetes tends to cause urine to be more dilute (clear) due to the glucose in the urine drawing more water in. The symptoms of diabetes are drinking more, urinating more, eating more but losing weight. With adult onset diabetes it can be more gradual and can be associated with obesity. Maybe but...: Everyone's definition of "sweet" will smell different. There are multiple things that can cause a change in breath odor. A common thing is when people go long stretches without eating (a long work day for example). If you only have the breath change, and do not have increased frequency of urine and / or thirst, then diabetes would be unlikely. ...Read more

Sweet stool: In general, a sweet odor to the stool is not worrisome. It could possibly be due to syrupy medications (which you say you are not taking) or due to not digesting sugars in the diet properly, which is unlikely if you are not symptomatic.
