More questions: I probably have more questions than answers. If you cut the dose and the tingles went away, then likely yes it was the cymbalta (duloxetine). If the tingles are still present the only way to know is to change therapy. Antidepressants are like house keys. Only one fits just right (controls symptoms / minimal adverse events). It's likely to be trial and error to find the right key. ...Read more

Does Cymbalta (duloxetine) help with hot flashes or does it cause them? I'm seeing mixed reviews. I have severe hot flashes now. I don't want them to get worse!

Both: In some people it helps and in others it helps. It is not one of the non-hormonal treatments shown to help with menopausal hot flashes but it is used for depression and some of the chronic pain syndromes. If you have one of those problems it is worth trying and can be stopped if the hot flashes worsen. The most important thing is why you are having the hot flashes. That can determine what helps. ...Read more

I am on 60 mg. of cymbalta (duloxetine) for ten years. My Dr. wants me to take indefinitely. Will this cause memory loss if I take for another 20 yrs.?

Depends: Memory loss has been reported as a Cymbalta (duloxetine) side effect though not common. Depending on your health status, other medications you take, family history of memory loss/dementia, you should continue to pay attention to possible memory loss due to Cymbalta (duloxetine) or other causes. Chances are you'll be fine. Good to review your meds and any side effects at regular intervals with all prescribing doctors. ...Read more
