I see: I now see why you are so concerned. I am sorry for your prior losses and apologize for saying not to worry..It is natural to worry after a prior loss. As i said earlier, the sono being a week behind may be totally normal. By 6-7 weeks, there should be a fetus seen on the sonogram. Hopefully you can repeat sono soon. No: Progesterone will not mask a miscarriage. Progesterone therapy will seldom prevent a miscarriage. Miscarriages are very common - occurring in 1/5 of pregnancies at least. Most miscarriages are due to large chromosomal/ genetic abnormalities which occur at conception. We have no control over these and they seem to be a matter of chance.
