Certainly: It certainly could be costochondritis - stress, viral infections, muscle pulls can all cause this condition and it is very painful at times. As long as it has been shown that your heart and lungs are normal then I would suggest seeing a chiropractor for treatment. NSAIDs also are helpful. No: I would be looking for other explanations. Perhaps even post herpetic zoster (shingles)? Sometimes there is no rash. I'd also look for problems along the upper spine. Besides your regular doctor you might also see what acupuncture or manipulation would do but I think you are right to ask for another explanation. 2nd opinion: If your ekg is normal, and treadmill and you have a history of costochondritis, then you may benefit from having a neuromusculoskeletal examination (nmm) done by a do, who can check, correlate your pinched nerve to your rib issues, and the dull pain in the left breast and arm while checking your neck out too.
