Doctor insights on:
Does Constipation Cause Water Retention
Yes, but: Constipation is by definition decreased stool output. The delay of stool passage to the outside allows the colon to reabsorb water that was destined to be excreted out of the body. However, constipation by itself should not be the cause for increased fluid retention of the body as long as the kidneys are normal and able to excrete water as needed. Pay good attention to your salt and fluid intake.

When eating gluten products I develop bloating, constipation, and water retention. Could I have gluten sensitivity, or celiac's disease?
Gluten sensitivities: Wheat or gluten sensitivities include a wide spectrum of presentations from well-defined celiac disease to other vaguely defined conditions like ibs-like symptoms, and problems outside of the gut like gluten ataxia or peripheral neuropathy. Since it is complicated, a good history taken by your physician with supporting tests might me helpful to tell if you have sensitivities or allergy to wheat.
Yes it can: In the clinical studies it apparently was among the reactions that was more common. See the website below that was assembled by a pharmacologist from the original studies. Question: To find out the cause of your symptoms you have to go see and Dr. And be evaluated.
Water retention: Water retention means the body through the kidney and sometimes the intestine is reabsorbing water perhaps to excess. It will reabsorb water from whatever the water containing liquid is......If you drink beer its the water part that is reabsorbed for instance. If you were to drink the drug Furosemide in its solution form, the drug part would override the water and you'd lose water due to drug.
Side effect of water retention tablets as I m on that tablet for 2 years now. Many times my heamoglobin goes up n down is it cause of this tablet.?
Possibly...: Water retention tablets (or diuretics) that you got from the doctor or in supplement form shouldn't cause big fluctuations in your hemoglobin. In mod to severe dehydration and rehydration the hemoglobin will change... But if you're noticing it, I would look for other causes of the anemia first.

Watermelon: Watermelon is a delicious fruit that does not cause water retention, even though it's 91% water. In fact, it may help you get rid of water. It is fat-free and salt-free. It's full of great lycopene, an antioxidant important in cardiovascular and bone health. Enjoy fresh, red, juicy watermelon -- and maybe even have a seed-spitting contest. :-) http://tinyurl. Unlikely: Dose and duration relative. One small dose, no, or very slight retention of no great significance- like salt from potato chips!
