What to do if I am 18 , ive been told if u have thin stools , its sign of colon cancer. should I worry .?

Should be checked: Thin stools can be a sign of rectal, not colon cancer. "Pencil" stools are caused by the cancer in the distal rectum or anus causing a severe narrowing which allows only a thin stool to pass. If the thin stools continue, you should see you're PCP and may need a colonoscopy. ...Read more

If a colon cancer is in advanced stage , it makes the stools thin every day? Because I had thin stool 2 weeks ago, then normal and today again. Help?

If a colon cancer is in advanced stage , it makes the stools thin every day? Because I had thin stool 2 weeks ago, then normal and today again. Help?

Whoa: Forgive me for this. You list yourself as having colon cancer. This will only narrow the caliber of your stool if it's still present. Are you inoperable? Is this a self-diagnosis unconfirmed by a competent physician? The bottom line is that we can't answer your question without more clinical information, and ultimately you need to find a physician whom you trust, cancer or no. ...Read more

Can holding your stool in cause colon cancer when you are 50?

Can holding your stool in cause colon cancer when you are 50?

No!: But it's not a good idea! when your body sends you the signal that is time to move her bowels, you should listen. It's really pretty smart. Obviously, one cannot always get to a bathroom when we get that signal. But if you do, go move your bowels. Your colon, rectum, and especially the hemorrhoidal veins will thank you (prevent hemorrhoids!) good luck! ...Read more

What does colon cancer make your stool look like?

What does colon cancer make your stool look like?

Grossly normal: Most patients with colon cancer have normal appearing stools. There may be some blood occasionally mixed or covering the stool, but usually this is microscopic rather than obvious. If the cancer is advanced, causing obstruction, then the stools can be narrowed, but again, this is for patients with advanced sigmoid or rectal cancers. The best way to diagnose colon cancer is with a colonoscopy. ...Read more

If it feels like my colon is full still after I use the washroom, can that mean be normal? I heard of colon cancer, but stool seems normal. No pain.

If it feels like my colon is full still after I use the washroom, can that mean be normal? I heard of colon cancer, but stool seems normal. No pain.

May be normal: The reservoir of the large bowel is transverse colon and not rectum. One may not be fully emptying that site if having normal BM. The final solution is in colonoscopy where if nothing seen on complete scoping, this would rule out Ca. If such occurs the symptoms may be arising in small bowel and at that point TCT of abdomen would be helpful ...Read more
