Does 800 mg twice a day of pure green coffee extract interact negatively with synthroid (thyroxine)?
Unknown: It is best to take synthroid (thyroxine) by itself on an empty stomach and wait at least 40 min before eating. Taking supplements at the same time can affect the absorption of synthroid (thyroxine). I can find no studies that have examined green coffee extract on thyroid hormone absorption. If thyroid levels change while taking the extract it means that it is probably affecting the absorption. ...Read more

If you get nauseous after 2 cups of coffee, why not stop at one? Or 1 1/2? Or half decaf, half regular? Or tea (which has a lower concentration of caffeine.)?
Hope this helps. Dr. Anne ...Read more

No but......: Narcotic is more a legal term than a medical term. It does not necessarily refer to just opiate type medications. In general I think Lyrica (pregabalin) is a very helpful medicine, and I rarely see any addiction problems, however I did have a recent case of Lyrica (pregabalin) dependence. With that said most patients even with addiction history may still try this med if indicated and monitored. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
