Does Club Soda Have Caffeine
Is there a good source of caffeine? I'm trying to go off of sodas but I'm suffering from horrible headaches. Any suggestions?
I am happy to hear you are going off sodas- one of the best things you can do for your health! The healthiest source of caffeine is green tea- you can drink it liberally- it is loaded with beneficial antioxidants. Coffee is ok too- choose organic! See http://www. Umm. Edu/altmed/articles/green-tea-000255.Htm
also consider kombucha as a healthy alternative to sodas- I like trilogy flavor by synergy. ...Read more
Caffeine from natural sources- coffee, teas, dark chocolate- is probably good for health in general. Caffeine, however, is not designed to treat fatigue or sleepiness or any other condition.
Not a fan of soda (diet or regular) or caffeine pills. They won't address the cause.
My general approach would be, after a good medical eval from pcp, to test neurotransmitters and adrenal function. ...Read more
Does a small fountain soda from a fast food restuarant have the same amount of caffeine as a can of soda?
Same concetration: Yes, if small soda is the same size (12 oz) as a can. Even one soda a day is associated with many serious health consequences-it increases diabetes risk by 22%. Sodas are associated with increased risk of heart attacks, kidney stones, osteoporosis, obesity, tooth decay, heartburn & high blood pressure. Diet soda is just as bad! See http://texasfarmersmarket. Is drinking a 106 ounces of water a day bad for you because that's what I drink nothing else no soda and especially no caffeine I liove water?
Not too much but...:
There is no consensus on how much water to drink but most agree it's wise to drink 1/2 to 2/3 ounce per pound of weight a day, so a 160 lb person should drink 80-107 oz./day. Drinking soda is very unhealthy. Water is the best thing to drink. However, if your city's water is fluoridated I advise drinking fluoride-free water. See http://bit. Ly/1npjceu

Very Possible: Abruptly stopping caffeine can definitely have withdrawal side effects. The most common is a headache and a lot of people who drink coffee at work get "weekend headaches" when they don't drink as much caffeine at home. To some degree it depends on what you mean by dizzy. Lightheaded type dizziness would be expected as would a headache. A sensation of true spinning is different and not expected. ...Read more
Hello.: Hello. The answer is yes. However, if you are being treated with zoloft (sertraline) for an anxiety disorder or bipolar disorder, the caffiene could impact those conditions. If you have anxiety disorders, too much caffiene can cause you to feel jittery. If you have bipolar disorder, caffiene could increase your energy level even more if you are already manic or hypomanic. Becare of caffiene in the evening as it can cause insomnia. ...Read more
Caffeine withdrawl: Being a former caffeine addict myself, I understand the fear. Withdrawl symptoms can range from minor irritability, to severe headaches. While unpleasant, it is not recommended to medicate for caffeine withdrawl. It is usually a very short phenomenon and I have never seen someone need to be hospialized because of it. I would recommend having tylenol (acetaminophen) and Motrin available. Maybe even sugarfree gum. ...Read more
15 min: The effects of the caffeine in soda should take effect within 15 minutes. Caffeine can raise blood pressure very slightly, but this should not be a problem unless you already have extremely high and uncontrolled blood pressure, or you are drinking gallons of soda a day, which wouldn't be good for many reasons. Hope this helps! ...Read more

I drink 2 to 4 liters of (caffeine-free) diet soda each day as my primary/sole source of liquid in take. Is this a dangerous or unhealthy choice?
See previous answer: It could be a healthy choice depending on what your other choices might be. Drinking beer? Much better. Drinking water? Not so much. Drinking sugar sweetened soda? Way too many calories in 2 liters of soda. I would consider this amount of soda, juice, coffee or milk excessive. Moderation in all things. ...Read more

NoDoz (caffeine): NoDoz is a formulation of caffeine. However, definitely not advisable for any type of use over a few days. Your best bet is to titrate the caffeine dosage down each day over a week or 2. Might be helpful, though, just until your body adjusts to not having that morning jolt. Hope that helps! ...Read more
