I took biogesic 6am and 1pm. Now I want to try flanax. Is it safe. And also will have my regular psyllium husk. How safe?
Probably safe: There is a dearth of high quality medical studies on psyllium in functional dyspepsia. That being said, psyllium is generally well tolerated by most people. The real question is whether psyllium is an effective treatment. In this area, more study needs to be done. ...Read more
M28, psyllium husk (if taken after soaking in water for 8 hrs) would help internal hemorrhoids or hurt them? Thanks
Psyllium will help:
No need to soak psyllium for 8 hours. Just mix with glass of water and slug it down. Follow with another glass of water. Take enough psyllium that you are having a bowel movement each day, stool should be 10 inches long, and it should float. If you're not meeting those conditions, take more psyllium.
Magnesium (500-1000 mg/day) will also help your constipation, Blood Pressure and diabetes. ...Read more
Psyllium husk powder (vitamin shoppe) safe during pregnancy? How many times in a day may I use this product? How many times a week?
Yes, definitely: Psyllium powder is definitely safe in pregnancy. It is not absorbed by your body, but rather pulls water into the intestine. You could use the product every day, even twice a day. Another great medication that functions in he exact same way (but tastes better) is miralax, (polyethylene glycol) or generic equivalent. Same idea, not absorbed, can take 1-2 times a day. Remember to drink lots of water too! ...Read more
I have a fever and headache right now. Can I take antipyretics while taking psyllium husks. I've been taking psylliums husks everyday for 2 months now?
Fighting a fever: Fever is part of the body's response to an infection or other "insult". Actually the body fights better when you have a fever although most doctors and nurses (especially) don't know that so they recommend paracetamol or other antipyretic. If you can "tough it out" it's better to have the fever- u will recover faster, but if uncomfortable u can take the medication to reduce fever. OK with psyllium ...Read more
Psyllium husk.: Psyllium husk is safe to use in the long term as a fiber and nutrient supplement. My concern with it is more the fact that it's easy. Remember that men need no more than 50 grams of fiber daily - it's easy to start sprinkling a lot of that stuff on everything. I'd rather you get the majority of your fiber from your regular meals and add Psyllium husk to oatmeal, salads and smoothies for example ...Read more

Added Fiber: That sure seems like too much. Remember in medicine that more is never better. This saying is repeatedly proven over and over in all kinds of scenarios when it comes to health care. One or two capsules followed by appropriate amounts of water is the recommended dosing. ...Read more
Is psyllium husk safe to take as prophylaxis for a long time? Or should it only be used for acute problems?
Nope: Ciprofloxacin has absolutely no effect against trichomonas, which must be treated with either metronidazole or tindazole. If you think you have trich, discuss with doctor; if diagnosis uncertain. You need testing for it. Other STDs often go along with trich, so be sure you're tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia as well. For sure no cipro, which could make STD diagnosis inaccurate. Good luck! ...Read more
