For the last three months, I've had bloating after each meal coupled with thinning stool and constipation. I had an endoscopy (normal), colonoscopy (removed 3 pollips), emptying test (normal), and so far one week on Xifaxan for SIBO, no improvement.

Bloating: Is the emptying study for the stomach or gallbladder? Did you have CT of abdomen? Would check gallbladder and pancreas, discuss use of creon ( pancreatic enzymes), do food diary. Consider elimination diets one week all mild products ,one week all gluten products, one week all soy products. Also consider food allergy testing and nutriion consult. F/u/ w/ doc . ...Read more

Sugar intolerance: Consider a milk or table sugar intolerance. Lactose intolerance could cause bloating and wouldnt show up on any of the tests you mentioned. So would small bowel overgrowth. Maybe.Give GI a call: Gastroenterologists do describe "colonic redundancy" &/or "tortuosity" as a colonic anatomic variant that makes performing colonoscopy technically more challenging. In such cases, there may be considerable looping & coiling by the colon, that may not translate into colon dysfunction.
