Does biotin make you break out?

Does biotin make you break out?

Not supposed: Biotin or other inert compound in the same pill as anything else may cause allergies especially if taken from animal origen. What kind of breakout is giving you? Itchy wheals scattered throughout the body? Swelling of lips, tongue or throat? Wheezing? Depending upon how fast the reaction is after intake the more serious it is. Consider other causes too.

Dermatologist: Visit a dermatologist who will evaluate your hair situation and order any advisable tests such as thyroid function. If no medical problems are uncovered and no specific treatment is needed, see a skilled hairdresser who will advise you about your current hair situation and its proper care.

There are reports: From people that they broke out on it. There are reports it treats acne http://www. Progressivehealth. Com/biotin-acne. Htm First, note that it is a required vitamin that is always present in you. Second, realize there is zero scientific or even slightly organized data to support either view. Might be helpful for hair if you have a deficiency. Http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Gov/pubmed/20690572 cannot say

Listen to your body: Every one is different. Many factors can influence acne breakouts. Biotin can aggravate acne in some people. Pantothenic acid can help some people with acne prone skin. Start with lowering stress, a good night sleep, eating healthy fresh vegetables and fruit, and getting good exercise through the day.

After wearing fake nails for so long my nails are weak and break very easily. Will a biotin supplement help and if so how much should I take?

After wearing fake nails for so long my nails are weak and break very easily. Will a biotin supplement help and if so how much should I take?

No: Biotin is a waste of money at any dose. A nail is not a living tissue. It cannot repair itself. You will grow a complete replacement nail in 6 months. The quality of that nail is largely related to how successfully you avoid injuries to it. Avoid glue, solvents, tapes. Minimize wet work. Never push or pinch or cut the cuticle in any way. Keep nails very short and do not attempt to clean under them.

Does taking biotin vitamin for hair and nails break you out?

Does taking biotin vitamin for hair and nails break you out?

No: However, if you have a rash for more than 2 week or you're systemically sick or the rash is obviously dangerous-looking, get seen. And be sure you know what you're really taking -- somebody who'd recommend "biotin for hair and nails" may actually be selling you goodness-knows-what.

Does biotin 5000mcg has any side effects? I have acne prone skill, I heard that it breaks people out..

Does biotin 5000mcg has any side effects? I have acne prone skill, I heard that it breaks people out..

It may!: Biotin is widely available as a supplement in a number of different preparations. The adequate intake for adults is 30 micrograms per day. Therefore, a 5, 000 microgram biotin supplement is very high potency. Scientists have yet to determine the safety of such high-potency individual vitamins.

On hair, skin and nails vitamins with 3000 mcg of biotin for at least 4 years now.@1daily for 2 months and then a break. Can I go up to 5000 mcgbiotin?

On hair, skin and nails vitamins with 3000 mcg of biotin for at least 4 years now.@1daily for 2 months and then a break. Can I go up to 5000 mcgbiotin?

Yes, totally safe: Biotin is extremely safe, in fact there is absolutely no known toxicity from any amount of biotin. 5000 mcg may sound like a lot, but it's the same as 5 mg, which may not sound like much. Whether it helps you is another question; it will help if you are deficient but deficiency is uncommon. Advise continuing the Skin, Hair and Nails vitamin too. See http://lpi. Oregonstate. Is 1mg of biotin a lot?

Is 1mg of biotin a lot?

Biotin: Biotin is vitamin b7, and is water-soluble. It most often comes in "mcg" doses -- there are 1000 mcg in 1 mg. Deficiencies are rare, as daily needs are small (around 50 mcg/day in adults) and it's abundant in food. Long-term antiseizure meds or antibiotics, intestinal malabsorption, & eating raw egg whites can lead to biotin deficiency. If you have one of these issues, 1mg is okay.

Does Biotin help your body?

Essential 4 health!: As a vitamin, by definition biotin is an essential nutrient. While deficiency is uncommon, low biotin can cause hair loss, dermatitis, and skin rash, ataxia, seizures, and other neurologic dysfunctions. High doses can be helpful for skin and hair health as well as blood sugar regulation. See http://draxe. Com/biotin-benefits/ and http://lpi. Oregonstate. Edu/mic/vitamins/biotin for details.

Should teenagers take biotin?

Should teenagers take biotin?

No, it is not needed: Biotin is present in a wide variety of food. Deficiencies are rare. Consider discussing with your primary care doctor supplementing if: 1. Your child/ teen consumes raw eggs (raw egg white contains avidin, a substance that antagonizes biotin). 2. Your child/teen is taking valproic acid (a medication used primarily to treat seizures). 3. Is on IV nutrition (tpn).

Can a teen take 5000mcg biotin.

Can a teen take 5000mcg biotin.

Don't need mo biotin: Biotin deficiency is very very rare. It is trendy right now to take if for hair and nails. Going beyond 100 mcg per day is not necessary and there is no evidence of benefit beyond this amount. Biotin is a water soluble B vitamin, so your body *probably* would simply pee out the extra. So it can be a nice way to make your pee expensive :)
