Simple question, but not easy to answer. It is easier to prevent acne than treating severe acne because severe/cystic acnes will cause scars which are permanent. Inflammatory acne are often treated with topical benzoy/antibiotic combo or oral antibiotics. Black-heads acne probably better treated with some retinoid derivatives.
