Does Beer Or Hard Liqiour Make Difference Is Ua Test
Doc. it is ok to take alcohol drink that contains 5% volume and 330ml after taking whey protein? , and does it have an advantage or not?
A ua is a urinalysis, or chemical and microscopic analysis of the urine. The standard urinalysis is performed with a dipstick test for ph, blood, protein, sugar, and ketones. In addition, a urinalysis usually includes a microscope examination to identify if the urine contains cells, "casts" (structures that indicate a problem originating in the kidney) or crystals (such as ...Read more
I'm taking a blood test for my thyroid is five hours, can I eat or drink anything or will it affect my blood test?
After 1 cup of coffee my urine smells like a coffeehouse. No matter how much water i drink. Even 3 hours after 1 cup. What is this? Is it normal?
Probably okay...: Some are more health-conscious than others, but even overdone with it. This is the normal pattern/spectrum of human behaviors. As to urine smell in relation to possible food/beverage consumption, remember: certain urine odor is normal, but personally unique and varying with what we eat or drink. So, it's okay as long as voiding comfortably and having a normal urinalysis. If still in doubt, ask doc. ...Read more
What does it mean when the doc says after a glucose challenge test: "your liver isn't making any sugar"?
Not sure either !: The glucose tolerance test (of which less physicians are doing nowadays except for screening of gestational diabetes) is a test that is primarily dedicated towards assessing the pancreatic function in terms of Insulin production and if beta cell dysfunction (the cells that produce Insulin in the pancreas) exists. The liver functioning state is not assessed though this special test however. ...Read more
Anemic and taking OTC 325mg Iron. Is there any way to tell if my iron level is up before next exam? Does constipation mean it is working? yes or no???
How do you FEEL?: If your anemia is caused by iron deficiency, this WILL help. If not, it will not help. Iron turns everybody's stool black and upsets the gut some; constipation is common. If you are iron deficient, you need to find out why -- heavy monthly loss, ill-advised vegetarianism, bleeding stomach ulcer, hookworm, tumor. Glad you're taking a proactive approach to your health. ...Read more
My friend is getting a blood test for HIV or a vaginal infection tomorrow but wants too drink alcohol tonight, will that effect the results?
Colonoscopy in 5 hours. Not supposed to drink anything after midnight. Is it normal to feel thirsty? Does this mean i'm dehydrated?
Colonoscopy, thirsty: Some patients will feel thirsty during the process of bowel preparation for the colonoscopy, a sign of dehydration. Normally, you can still drink liquid up to 2 hours prior to colonoscopy. However, some anesthesiologists are very strict with npo status. You might want to call to verify with the surgical center where you are going to have a colonoscopy. ...Read more
Suffering with dehydration, no amount of water seems to make me feel better. Awaiting blood test results but what can I do or take in the mean time?
Dehydration: Unfortunately, without knowing what's causing it, it's really hard to suggest effective treatment. Dehydration can be true when you are losing more than ingesting such as in cases of vomiting or diarrhea or relative when you are putting out large amount of urine in cases of diabetes mellitus or insipidus. Until you have your tests done, there's not much i can suggest without more history data. ...Read more
Does caffeine make anxiety/ocd worse? If so, how much would be safe to drink? Would 1 or 2 cans of coca cola or Pepsi a day be ok?
I take tricor (fenofibrate) it's not safe with gf juice, but pharmacist said it takes a lot of gf juice to create a prob. A glass isn't gonna do anything. True?
Pretty safe: seems like 60% gets in. Inhibition of the gut metabolism of the drug might increase it but that's a bit less than doubling the dose and there's a considerable margin of error in the dosing, so, that isn't likely to affect things. ...Read more
Doc wants to do an 8am serum cortisol & acth. I have a cold - will it affect test results? Wait until cold is gone? Or doesn't matter?
Addison's disease: Unclear why doc wants to do these tests, but presumably doc is wondering about addison's disease, where cortisol is low, and acth is high. A cold, if anything, would raise cortisol. An elevated cortisol would be a healthy/normal response of your adrenals. I say go ahead and do the test. ...Read more
Is it normal to urinate a lot when drinking 3 to 4 liters of water daily? However my urine is clear and it doesn't hurt or burn.
I'm pretty conscious of sodium intake. But, if I eat our or something I get double or more. Question is how long does it take to clear out of my syst?
The Bloat Boat: Assuming you have normally functioning kidneys, you'll probably increase your water intake to help dilute the salt (hence, why women freak-out on the bloat) then get rid of the salt and water through the kidneys. That's a very simple explanation. Should take no longer than 12-24 hours or less, depends on your physiology. But over a long time all that salt could get you and your kidneys in trouble. ...Read more
Is it safe to drink alcohol if you are taking clindamycin ? If so does the amount you drink make a difference?
Probably safe butttt: If you are on antibiotics, it is best not to be drinking while on the med and with an infection. Alcohol is a depressant and can affect the white cells via the bone marrow. One drink is not what I am referring to. It's just best to get well and then drink responsibly. ...Read more
If I am sensitive to coffee how much is a ok amount considering espresso to no cause constipation?
Good, AskingQuestion: though not one which any physician can answer with much value. Why? Life, humans=vastly complex & responses to similar inputs are highly individual & variable. This is the point of clinical trials: commit to a defined strategy & compare the results of different strategies.
