Call your doctor: Depends on what is being treated. Metoprolol can be used to treat high blood pressure and palpitations/rapid heart rate. Y would U want to?: Baby Aspirin helps prevent clots (thus heart attacks and ischemic (clot-related) type strokes. Unfortunately, by the same token, it increases with risk of bleeding including hemorrhagic (bleeding-type) strokes. No study I'm familiar with has shown benefit for Aspirin for anyone under the age of 50. Even 40 year old men showed no benefit for primary prevention. (people without disease). ...Read more

No Not likely:
Neither of these drugs have any effect on your blood pressure.
Low blood pressure is not a disease, so do not list it as such. BP on the lower end of the normal range is actually a good thing as long as you do not feel dizzy or faint when you stand up from a lying or sitting position. Most people can tolerate BP as low as 100/60 mm. ...Read more
At what blood pressure should a 28 year old with good health go to the hospital? And at what BP should I take aspirin or Bayer to be cautious?
BP: Your question suggests you are anxious about something related to your BP. We don't presently recommend aspirin prophyllaxis unless the patient is at high risk for an event which platelet inhibition might help. Blood pressure over 140/90 is generally agreed to be abnormal but that doesn't require an ER visit. Headache or other symptoms with a BP over 170 systolic would be a reason to go to hospit ...Read more
Maybe shouldn't. ..: While it's easier & faster to practice cookbook medicine, that's not necessarily the best for any given individual. How do OTC sleeping pills/allergy pills and aspirin cause blood pressure to be high in a sort of "rebound effect"?
Let's clarify: Plain antihistamines (most otc sleeping aids and allergy meds) have a marginal effect on bp. If, however, the allergy pills contain a decongestant too, this can raise BP temporarily while in your system. The anti-cholinergic effects of some plain anti-histamines can raise pulse and vascular tone enough to raise BP a little. I have never heard of Aspirin causing a rebound in blood pressure. ...Read more
