Try and see...: Drinking baking soda can raise urine pH but not proved to benefit UTI although you claimed helpful to you - most likely from upping urine pH resulting in soothing how you feel. I doubt if any specific clinical study has been done to test & answer your concern. Not really: It's probably the fluid alone - alkalinizing your urine will not kill bacteria in your urine. You should remain "hydrated" at all times (urine output >/= 2 quarts/day). I do not have a uti. It burns during sex and feels like I have to urinate. Afterwards, it burns to pee. It also burns when I drink sodas.

Unless you have previously/recently used a good antibiotic, Pyridium is not a good drug to control active UTI. Moreover it can give unpleasant side effects like you have listed above.

Given that you are in the U.S. The pharmacist would have given you specific instructions about what to be avoided with cipro. Dairy would be on that list. Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Robaxin would not be on the list of drug interactions.
