Infections are invasions of some other organism (fungus, bacteria, parasite) or viruses into places where they do not belong. For instance, we have normal gut bacteria that live within us without causing problems; however, when those penetrate the bowel wall and enter the bloodstream, ...Read more
Doesn't: As far as I know baking soda does not treat a yeast infection, it has no anti fungal properties.
Yes: Many women find it helpful. Some pharmacies sell ready made baking soda vaginal douches. Otherwise 1 - 2 tablespoons of baking soda miked in about 4 cups of warm water in a douche bag is good inexpensive mixture.

This is treated with a low starch diet, probiotics & antifungal drugs or herbs. See http://huff. To/15mbzao & http://bit. Ly/1aeoabl A holistic or integrative physician can help guide your treatment.

Pretty sure I have a yeast infection. I've taken over-the-counter medicine and it's feeling better. Cam I drink soda, or do I wait?
Yeast infections: It sounds as though you believe drinking soda is related to your yeast infection. These two things are not related so feel free to drink the beverage of your choice.
Garlic: Use of garlic for vaginal yeast infections has not been clinically evaluated. Garlic does have anti-fungal effects. It is has been used for a very long time for vaginal yeast infections. Some women add garlic to their diet while others may insert a garlic clove wrapped in gauze in the vagina overnight.
Yeast: Some women place yogurt in the vagina to tx yeast infections (but there is currently no clear research to back claims of its benefits). The average yogurt you buy in the grocery store has dead cultures. Consider eating yogurt with live cultures or Kefir. There is a prebiotic product called Luvena (vaginal wipes). The wipes are not a treatment for candidiasis but do help vaginitis.
Will not work: Garlic will have no effect on a yeast infection. Depending on the location of your infection there are many over the counter topical treatments available in your drug store. Otherwise you can get prescription treatments from your md.
Could help: It can sometimes be helpful to overwhelm the vagina with good bacteria such as those often found in plain yogurt with live cultures. In extreme cases where the vagina and vulva are very inflamed, sticking the yogurt directly on the vulva and inside the vagina provides quick relief from the discomfort. But it's important to also flood the GI tract with good bacteria by eating 1 cup of yogurt /day.
Monistat/Vagisil/Azo: You may try any of the OTC remedies such as Vagisil, Monistat or Azo. You may consult this site for more information on this topic. Http://www. Webmd. Com/women/tc/vaginal-yeast-infections-home-treatment For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
Diaper rash: If you are talking about a yeast diaper rash, keep the area clean and dry. Change diapers frequently when needed. Apply a small amount of a anti-yeast cream such as Lotrimin AF/clotrimazole at each diaper change. The rash should improve within a few days. If it isn't better, or it's getting worse, see your child's doctor.
