Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

3 pregnancies and been DX with choronic hematoma all 3 xs delivered 2 xs no complications, last ended at 16 weeks no heart beat will it happen again ?

3 pregnancies and been DX with choronic hematoma all 3 xs delivered 2 xs no complications, last ended at 16 weeks no heart beat will it happen again ?

Hard to say: Usually chorionic hematomas do not cause miscarriages. They typically regress and do not cause problems. Did they check the chromosomes of the 16 week miscarriage? Maybe there was just a problem with the baby and the hematoma was an incidental finding? It's reassuring that you had two other pregnancies with hematoma that did fine. I would recommend staying away from aspirin. ...Read more

I had my 1st ultrasound at 7w4d and the baby measured 5.0mm (6w1d) with a faint heart beat of about 100bpm.What are my chances of a healthy pregnancy?

I had my 1st ultrasound at 7w4d and the baby measured 5.0mm (6w1d) with a faint heart beat of about 100bpm.What are my chances of a healthy pregnancy?

Reasonably good but: Your "chances of a viable pregnancy" are reasonably good but predicting a "healthy pregnancy" does not and can not depend on a single ultrasound exam performed at 6 weeks. A follow up sonogram in 2 to 3 weeks and an obstetrical evaluation should help you get an answer to your concern. ...Read more

How many weeks does baby have heartbeat??? Because I got this heartbeat monitor and hear things could it be sign of pregnency????

Why would a baby's heart beat go down from 160 to 140 while in gestation?

Why would a baby's heart beat go down from 160 to 140 while in gestation?

Not uncommon: Variations of 10-20 beats per minute is not uncommon and even different positions of the mother may cause the fetal heart rate to change. Food, medications, and substances the mother takes in can also affect the growing baby and cause fluctuations in the heart rate, for example caffeine may stimulate the baby heart rate to increase, etc. Best wishes and congratulations. ...Read more

I am worried about my pregnancy. I am 8w heard a heart beat of 171 at 7w 6d. Really no symptoms. Could something be wrong?

Unlikely: Pregnancy is a normal, natural condition and, in an otherwise healthy woman your age, they usually progress normally. If a heartbeat was heard and you are not having any symptoms of pelvic pain or bleeding, try not to worry so much. If you continue to be so worried, see your OB or midwife again, and consider some counseling or joining a support group. Just take good care of yourself! ...Read more

I seen the heart beat today... so that means my chances of m/c has gone down ??? this is my first pregnancy so I'm very worried !!

Yes.: You have a 70-90% chance of the pregnancy continuing. Congrats! Stay positive, be happy! Worry helps nothing and changes the chemicals in the body, so does being positive and happy. Better to have happy chemicals running through you to the baby than the other kind. See http://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-complications/early-fetal-development/ ...Read more

My last cycle started 7 weeks ago. At my first us my gs estimated my pregnancy at 10 weeks. There was a heart beat. Is there a potential problem?

Unclear: Are you asking.... If i bled 7 weeks ago, is it okay if my pregnancy is 10 weeks, will my pregnancy be okay? Bottom line, bleeding in pregnancy affects 25% of all pregnancies in 1st trimester. The fact that you saw a heartbeat decreases your risk for miscarriage significantly. At this point, follow doctor's instructions re pregnancy, but sounds like it's okay. ...Read more
