Other possibilities.: The Thyroid is not the only endocrine gland that affects metabolism, mood, menstrual cycles and hair follicle activity in women your age. It's quite possible that you are experiencing peri-menopause, or that you have Vitamin D deficiency. Has the enlargement of the thyroid gland been confirmed/examined with ultrasound? Take dose: If you forgot to take your synthroid, (thyroxine) take the dose as soon as you remember. You should take it at the same time each day. You can split the time in half in hours that you missed it and take it a little bit later tomorrow since you are taking it late today. Then you can resume taking it in the morning.
