Does An Mri Of The Spine Show Spinal Fluid Problems
2010 lumbar xray scoliosis an sclerosis of facet joints a MRI in 01an06 of neck hern/buldg disc min pressure on spinal cord, what test show nerve dam?
3: Physical exam, ssep and emgncv.Get a more detailed answer ›
Mri or magnetic resonance imaging is one of the more recently developed imaging modalities available to physicians. It uses powerful magnets to generate images. There is no ionizing radiation which is a major advantage over many other modalities. Mri is the best imaging exam that we have for most soft tissue and joint related problems. There are radiologists ...Read more
MRI shows multilevel cervical spondylosis throughout cervical spine most severe C4-5 & C5-6 resulting in complete effacement of CSF & moderate spinal canal stenosis; no abnormal cord signal. What does this mean & how dangerous is it?
Very: This is very important to get it treated before you lose function of the nerves below that level
Had complete neuro, rheum, workup, normal CBC, MRI of brain and spine, MRA of neck and xrays of neck and chest. All negative. Can spinal fluid be off?
Possible!: One has to know the proper history to answer this question!
The CT scan has'n show a spinal fluid. Four mounths after and with all that symptoms do I need MRI because maybe it's fluid or something else it's wr?
I'm not sure I: Understand the question. What is the specific issue with spinal fluid? Hydrocephalus?
What would cause no spinal fluid to be seen in one auditory canal on MRI but seen on the other. Mentioned soft tissue density on that side.?
? Mass vs. Vol Ave.: Depending on the MRI protocol, it is possible there is slight angling of the image, and one side is seen well while the other is not as clearly seen. This is called volume averaging. It is more likely on a routine head mri, and unlikely on a dedicated MRI of the internal auditory canals. It is also possible there is soft tissue is in one auditory canal. Was there enhancement after contrast?
I have several m.S. Symptoms, but no lesions on brain mri.. But what does 2 white obligonal bands on spinal fluid mean.?
One of diagnostic: Tests. A diagnosis of ms is usually made on the basis of clinical findings, MRI and oligoclonal bands in cerebrospinal fluid. One of the features of ms is recurrent episodes. See this site for more information on this topic. Http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Gov/pubmedhealth/pmh0001747/.
If I have chiari malformation 1 and my spinal Mri came up negative do I still need surgery? I have symptoms just nothing wrong with my spinal fluid
Neurological: Symptoms guide the decision that surgery is needed. Pressure from the cerebellum on the spinal cord or lower brainstem can cause neurological signs & symptoms. Read all the pages on www. Mayoclinic. Org/diseases-conditions/chiari-malformation/basics/definition/con-20031115. Seek a 2nd pediatric neurosurgical opinion if you are hesitant.
Can white matter on brain MRI be some kind of connection with my chiari malformation? Can it be spinal fluid build up?
Come again?: Brain consists of gray matter (neurons' cell bodies) & white matter (connecting fiber tracts). Chiari malformation has to do with position of cerebellum at base of brain. These 2 things aren't related at all. Finally, can WHAT be spinal-fluid buildup? You'll understand much better if you educate yourself about brain anatomy. There are good sources for laypeople. It's NOT beyond your ability.
My dad has been diagnosed for "Encephalitis". Doctors are not clearly able to find root casuse. All tests (EEG, MRI, Blood Test etc) came clear. Lumber punture test revealed high protein in spinal fluid, Hence doctors are speculating case of "Encephalitis
Incomplete question.: Your question is incomplete and we don't know what information you are looking for. I am sorry your dad is sick!See 1 more doctor answer
Is it normal for a MRI to show white spots on spine not the spinal cord but by the discs in between them
It can be: It is difficult to answer this without seeing the MRI or at least knowing more about the MRI. There are two main types of pictures taken in an MRI, they are labelled as "T1" and "T2" images. Also, sometimes contrast (a compound injected intravenously for the MRI) is given. A white area in the center of the discs on a T2 image is normally suggestive of healthy (well hydrated) discs and is normal
My current MRI of cervical spine shows reactive endplate changes and large central disc extrusion at c3/c4 indenting on spinal cord. Should I Worry?
Herniated disc: Not to worry but you should visit a neurosurgeon in the next week for evaluation and treatment. Hand tingling and weakness is a sign of cord compression. Do not do repetitive lifting and bending (housework/yardwork) until a neurosurgeon sees you because the weakness and numbness could worsen with these activities. Avoid contact sports or jarring exercises (running) too.See 1 more doctor answer
Recent MRI of cervical spine shows spinal cord swelling at c5- C6, had acdf sugery in sept. Why is there still swellinh?
Hard to say: There are multiple potential causes. It still might be residual from what you had before surgery, there may be continued compression, or have been a surgical complication. Your surgeon would be the best to interpret the meaning of the study based upon your individual case. Thank you for your question.See 2 more doctor answers
Extreme pain in rt t spine. Mri shows hemangioma from t3–8. No spinal or foraminal stenosis. What kind of surgeon can do ethanol injections?
Radiologist: Ethanol injections for hemangiomas are usually done by an interventional radiologist.See 1 more doctor answer
Mri shows disc protrusion at l5-s1. Mod. Central spinal canal stenosis throughout L spine. Mod degrees of neural forminal stenosis at l4-5 an esp l5-s1?
Degenarative disks: The cartilage disks that cushion vertrebrae, (which are the bones protecting the spinal cord), have degenarated. Usually from wear - tear, the central portion loses water, which causes outer portions to bulge out and press upon surrounding nerve structures. The foramina are tiny holes from which nerves exit the spinal canal which is main space spine sits within vertebral cage. Tends to cause painSee 1 more doctor answer
I have chronic low back pain. The X-ray showed spinal stenosis. I will be having an MRI next week. I am unsure if MRI shows cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine or if eacharea is ordered a separate mri? I have intermittent neck pain also.
Each area is separat: Cervical thoracic and lumbar are separate studies.See 2 more doctor answers
What would cause weird left leg sensations after a month of bronchitis. Tingling in foot after a hot shower or getting overheated. Neuro said from spinal problems per MRI. MRI of brain/spine negative for any ms lesions. Ssep&emg negative. Still worried?
Plan: If all these serious tests are negative for abnormal findings and your symptoms subside slowly, it's most likely no need to worry. Ask more questions your doctor about MRI result.
Tingling in left heel after hot shower/hot weather. Brain/spine mri shows hernation at t7-t8 with flattening of the left ventricle spinal cord, disc protrusions and spondylolisthesis from L4-S1 causing stenosis. Why do I have the heat sensitivity?
Need Neuro exam.: You should see a Neurologist with a copy of the report & (ideally) pictures of the MRI that you underwent. Only a Neurologist can accurately tell you if / why you have heat sensitivity. Usually, heat sensitivity means loss of the ability to tell the difference between hot & cold. The spinal MRI may be misleading. Poor circulation, neuromas, diabetes, & other conditions predispose feet to tingling.See 1 more doctor answer
