No safe test: Since Aspirin and NSAID allergy is not typically mediated by ige antibody, allergy blood and skin tests are not helpful. A challenge test where the medication is taken can be done, but the risk may be unacceptable. ...Read more

Does Prednisone Have aspirin in it?

No: prednisone is a steroid, doesn't contain aspirin, if you've got aspirin allergy I would recommend seeing an allergist, you might need aspirin desensitization, that does help a lot, check aaaai.org or acaai.org for an allergist in your area, good luck ...Read more

Is non-allergic rhinitis common in asthma? cough and mild wheezing are the only symptoms of asthma. No allergies- constant runny nose

Is non-allergic rhinitis common in asthma? cough and mild wheezing are the only symptoms of asthma. No allergies- constant runny nose

All connected: In Chinese medicine, your lungs are connected to your entire respiratory system, including your lungs, your throat, your bronchial tubes, and your nose. So if your lungs are weak in something like asthma it would be likely that you'd also have a runny nose. It means that you need some strengthening of your lungs, and you should probably quit smoking. ...Read more

I've never had an issue with NSAIDs But after taking 1 baby Aspirin today I feel mildly itchy. Is this an allergy?

Possible: Aspirin can cause an itchy hives in some people but your problem may also be coincidental. However I would still advise avoidance . If a low-dose ASA is needed for blood clotting issue, consult an allergist to confirm the ASA allergy. Unfortunately desensitization does not work for itching or hives. ...Read more

Not related: If you have an allergy to Aspirin and or NSAID then a steroid is not the same medicine. But your doctr will ask you what your allergy is. Do you get hives? Breathing difficulty? The shoulder cortisone injection for someone 22 years old is also a concern as it is a temporary therapy. ...Read more

What are some good decongestants for people with allergies to NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.)?

Several: I like to start with hypertonic nasal saline nose sprays to help reduce congestion without medications. Pseudoephedrine ok short time. OTC nasacort (triamcinolone) also good if allergies the cause. This article may help - but if not improved soon or worsens see your MD. http://familydoctor.org/familydoctor/en/drugs-procedures-devices/over-the-counter/decongestants-otc-relief-for-congestion.html ...Read more

Hello I have recently developed an allergy to ibuprofen and aspirin I was wondering specifically what other nsaids can I take?

Hello I have recently developed an allergy to ibuprofen and aspirin I was wondering specifically what other nsaids can I take?

Allergy : We would not try other nsaid's if you are allergic to the two. I would recommend tylenol (acetaminophen) as the next option. Make sure what you are calling an allergy actually is an allergy. Talk to your doctor. Stomach upset and nausea is not a n allergy while hives or trouble breathing is. ...Read more
