Doesn't mean much: Independent of a concomitant glucose an Insulin level doesn't mean much. If blood sugar is high, low, or normal with an Insulin level of 8 uu/ml, the interpretation is completely different. ...Read more

Elevated tri's: A couple of things cause triglycerides to rise like having eaten a fatty meal prior to testing, suboptimally controlled diabetes, hypothyroidism, excessive alcohol intake and too much protein in your urine(so called nephrotic syndrome). You should : Follow ur treating physicians advice.They know you better than i ( history, physical, labs, weight, diet). Some diabetics can get off or stay off meds by losing 20-30 lbs ( if overweight) by a careful diet and exercise regemin. Good luck. ...Read more
