If this suggests a clinical milk allergy then skin testing, blood testing and possible a food challenge could be considered. All of this should be done by a board certified allergist. ...Read more

Have you ever sat with your wife wondering what her doctor is talking about?

Have you ever sat with your wife wondering what her doctor is talking about?

Female "parts": I empathize with your concern, however it is important to know about basic "female parts" instead of only biblically "knowing" them. Acquire a basic education of how the female body works, ask questions of your wife, and above all stop the md when he is talking "giberrish" and ask him to explain in a way that one can understand. Men are only "leasing" and don't "own anything" but need to know. ...Read more

Actually i want to ask my daughter she is about 3 month n her body size n waight are low what should I do for her m worried about her please tell me..

Difficult question: Smaller body weight and size may be appropriate for your baby depending on many factors. There is a wide range of normal over the first year and the pattern of growth rather than the size is used to decide if this is healthy.Your doc can use a standard growth chart to position weight/length and head size at various points since birth. If normal, relax, if not find out why and work to fix it. ...Read more

I am starting to see my doctor as a friend? Do i tell her? I know she has boundaries. But this is confusing to me and i like talking to her. Input?

Difficult question: Most doctors go into medicine because they like people, and most of us like most of our patients most of the time. That being said, it is difficult to treat people effectively without our boundaries, because emotional attachment can make it difficult to have objectivity about our patients. Enjoy the time you spend with her and don't take it personally if it does not develop into longterm friend. ...Read more

What do you suggest if my psychiatrist is talking about puting me on cesamet?

Not really sure.: For what condition? One study suggested that it decreased nightmares in people with PTSD. But, the study was not well constructed - so it is really hard to know. Yes - talk is good: The real answer is "it depends". Perhaps all your friend needs is your company, shoulder & ear to share concerns. Unfortunately, it's tricky finding right ssri for each individual. Worse, ssris don't work for everyone. Even so, they shouldn't be dismissed out of hand but preferably used in conjunction w/professional counseling. But in the end, you can never have too many friends. ...Read more

What do you suggest if my doctor gave me parlodel (bromocriptine) what is it. I think he said something about harmone.?

High prolactin?: Hi. If the Parlodel (bromocriptine) was given for a hormone, you probably have a high prolactin. Assuming you didn't just deliver a baby, that's usually due to a benign tumor in the pituitary gland that secretes prolactin. The high prolactin makes your periods stop and usually causes breast milk production. It is treated with bromocriptine (or the preferred drug, cabergoline). ...Read more

What do you suggest if I am 20 yrs old and thinking about testosterone booster. What would happen?

Probably nothing: Why do you ask? If your body is that of a normal 20 year old (i.e., you smell like a man and are horny most of the time), you're already basically maxed out. If you're having erectile dysfunction, get with a competent physician and have prolactinoma and hemochromatosis ruled out. If you're a bodybuilder, work hard and the hormonal milieu will take care of itself. Can you clarify? Thanks. ...Read more
