The doctor said that I have blood in my urine. I had menstruation before that like 1 week before. Is it possible that i had a kidney stone?

RBC origin eval: You need an evaluation to determine where the blood is coming from. It may be from the filtering units, kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, or urethra. Went to ER for severe lower right ab pain and back pain. Dr said i had kidney stone and hematuria. Did urine and blood tests only but no cat scan, why?

See answer: Though symptoms and u/a may be suggestive, one cannot reliably make the diagnosis of a kidney stone without some type of an imaging study (kub, ultrasound, ct) with a non-contrast ct scan being the most accurate and reliable imaging study to determine the presence, location, and size approximation of a stone as well as to potentially rule out other causes of pain and hematuria. ...Read more

Why do I have hematuria in the past 4 months? Small to moderate in each urine analysis. Doctors are brushing it off but I want to know what or why?

Why do I have hematuria in the past 4 months? Small to moderate in each urine analysis. Doctors are brushing it off but I want to know what or why?

Don't brush: You need to have this checked out. It may be nothing but if there is some blood make sure it is not during your period. If they brush you off, see a urologist to be complete and you need to suggest a cat scan of the kidneys, ureter and bladder to have a complete workup. also need a bladder scope. Make sure it is all negative. ...Read more

I'm always showing microscopic hematuria in urine. My doctor doesn't seemed concerned and has no answers for why. What should I do? Should i be concer

Causes of hematuria: Hematuria can be caused by any bleeding in the urinary tract. It could be caused by a tumor of the kidney, kidney stones in the ureters or by a bladder tumor, among other things. Have your urine cultured and if you have hematuria with no uti, see a urologist for evaluation . If you do have a uti, have your urine analyzed after the infection to make sure it resolves. If not, see a urologist. ...Read more
