Not mono.: Hard to explain in limited space, but mono does not cause a pattern like this. Lab markers of mono persist for life and are often misunderstood. Unless you have seen an infectious disease specialist, I suspect that your prior episodes were NOT mono and that you do not have mono now. White spots on my uvula & tonsils. Left side looks a bit swollen. Negative for strep. No sore throat. Ent said tonsillitis & saw a "pus pocket" on one side. I had a bad cold for 5 wks. Could be mono?

Maybe: Mono symptoms are much more pronounced than what you are describing. Usually the tonsils are swollen and tender and look awful. You can always ask your doctor to get a mono blood titer or a blood test on you to diagnose mono. ...Read more

Comfort measures: Assuming you don't have a lot of other symptoms, the following may help: gargling with warm water with salt (1/4 teaspoon in 8 ounces); sore throat lozenges such as cepacol; sore throat spray such as chloraseptic; a teaspoon of honey as needed; and pain reliever such as Acetaminophen (tylenol). Calcification: i often see residual white spot like a tiny calcification but usually not significant, try salt water gargles about 3 x/day , warm to hot tap water [not too hot where it burns] 1 oz with 1/8 teaspoon of salt , this may 'sandpaper' it off , if sore throat , could be virus unrelated, if all those symptoms , may have the flu , get tested [nasal swab rapid test] but can't treat if flu after 3 days ...Read more
