Not likely: While anything is possible, pressure sores usually occur in people who either have impaired sensation in the area in question, are unable to move due to paralysis or impaired consciousness, or some combination of both. Injury near oblique/back. How do I get out of bed after lying on side? Puts pressure on that area but have no other way to sleep. Advice please! Pain!
Some criticism: I remember my mother complaining to me if I did that - and I did sometimes. It might depend on just how contaminated your outer wear got - normal use will not cause disease by sleeping in the clothes more than wearing them did. I guess the sheets might get dirty faster. If people can get DVT from sitting on flights then why dont they get it from laying for 8 hrs while sleeping? Most flights are shorter than 8 hours
DVT's: for the most part you are not absolutely still while sleeping. You twist and turn and move which reduces the risk of DVT's. However, prolonged laying in one position - such as in a hospital bed after surgery - places you at risk for DVT. The best way to avoid increased risk of DVT on flights is to do exercises - toe lifts and moving your feet. Hope that answers your question. ...Read more

Prevention: A few minutes of stretching exercises or riding a stationary bicycle for a few minutes before going to bed can prevent the cramps from coming on. Keeping well hydrated and avoiding alcohol/caffeine help. Cramps can be a sign of low potassium and magnesium, which are a side effect of some medications such as diuretics. If you get cramps regularly, it is worthwhile getting checked out. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
