I'm prescribed codeine sulfate taken daily i'm having hysteroscopy in 2 days and undergoing general anesthesia. When should I stop taking codeine?
Continue the codeine: I would recommend that you continue the codeine thru the surgery. On at the morning of surgery take your medications with a sip of water. Make sure that the anesthesiologist is aware of your codeine intake.* He/She MUST know you are taking a narcotic (codeine) prior to surgery.
