What causes abnormal heavy bleeding for 20days so far after laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis and ovarian cysts and having prostap injection?

Bleeding: If you had surgery for endometriosis, that could cause your bleeding postoperatively. I was diagnosed with ovarian cyst and I had a laparoscopic surgery on Monday but now I'm bleeding I'm not sure if it's a period or not and I also have a stabbing pain underneath the belly button where the incision was made ?

Not even a week: A lot of times during laparoscopic Gyn surgery a uterine manipulator is placed to assist in visualization. This can cause some spotting. The camera is typically placed through an incision in your belly button which certainly would be sore. Contact your Gyn surgeon to confirm that your symptoms are expected based on the surgery performed. ...Read more

I need a laposcopic done for ovarian cyst. They are very large. My insurance is saying they are a pre exsiting con. What should I do to get surgery?

Very complicated: Every insurance plan makes up its own rules. You may be able to wait 6 months and then be covered. You may have to change plans. New health laws may make pre-existing condition exclusions illegal. If that passes in the country, in your state, or with your plan, then you may be in luck. This is a constantly frustrating issue, but you may have to play the game in order to have your procedure done. ...Read more

I have a 5.9 cm simple ovarian cyst. I have no pain or symptoms. I was told if it grows it might need surgery? What is the danger if it grows?

I have a 5.9 cm simple ovarian cyst. I have no pain or symptoms. I was told if it grows it might need surgery? What is the danger if it grows?

Important: First, are you 47 years old? I mean no offense but 50% of ages given on HealthTap are untrue. If 47 is correct the risks are torsion (twisting) and rupture. Any cyst larger than 6 cm. is a significant risk for these , both of which require emergency surgery. AT age 47 the chance of cancer, while not terribly high, is still plausible. Hence, needs removal. Good wishes. ...Read more
